Oneida 18-Pc Stainless Steel Cutlery Block Set

I ordered these knives eight months ago. At the time, the listing was incorrect and listed the 7" santoku knife as a 5" knife. I specifically ordered this set because I wanted that smaller knife. When I contacted the seller , MMP Living, they investigated it, discovered that the listing was wrong, refunded my money, and told me to keep the knives. So I got these knives for free.If I had actually paid for them, right about now I'd be very angry. I rarely use these knives, as I found the 5" one I had wanted, and it is my go-to knife. Also the handles of These knives are hollow which makes them too lightweight for my comfort. There is absolutely no heft to them at all.These knives that are rarely used and are only eight months old and supposedly made of stainless steel which doesn't rust are starting to rust.Now I admit that I put them in the dishwasher. But good stainless steel does fine in the dishwasher. I have a set of silverware from my mom that she bought in 1975. That silverware has been through the dishwasher countless times over the last 43 years, and not a single piece of it has rusted. That tells me that the "stainless steel" that these are made of is such poor quality that it might as well be tin.

My daughter bought these for me and I have NEVER had a sharper knife set (ever.) The price was so low I did not think they could possibly compare with my $250 former sets usually by Chicago Cutlery. I recall saving up a long time just to get those high end sets. Bottom line Oneida offers true quality at a very affordable price - no catches.

I read the reviews before purchasing but still needed an economical knife set so I decided to purchase it anyway. After the first time I washed all the knives before I used them, they had already begun to rust. It's mainly the smaller knives that I don't use as much that rusted immediately but was not too happy to see rust immediately after I received them. The knives do cut well and can be re-sharpened but not sure if that's worth it if they don't last long.

I bought this as a gift and I was impressed with how nice it was. Oneida is a great company with quality products, I love how these knives are all one piece! No room for mold and bacteria to grow under two piece handles like many options have.

I love these stainless steel knives. This is the 2nd time that I purchased these knives. I bought a set 5 years ago & they’re still in great condition. I ordered these for a beach rental because I was so pleased with my first purchase. Only thing that went wrong is that I received 2 - 3” bird beak knives and was shorted the utility knife which is a knife that I use a lot. I didn’t open the carton until 2 weeks ago & didn’t report the error untiltoday. Hoping that they’ll ship the missing knife to me in good faith.

Nice non wood handled set of cutlery. One piece construction allows for complete germ preventing cleaning. Only negative comment is the wood block the knives come in. Would prefer one easier to keep clean
