Taste, availability, and price
I enjoy Horlicks and my local Tesco only stocks the Instant Horlicks so a six pack will keep me going for a while. Amazingly, 6 delivered promptly to my door cheaper than buying off the shelf in the shop if there were any there.I like to make my drink with more powder, and frothy whole milk is even better.

Expensive as you need about 3 teaspoons a cup
As a child, now and then mother would buy as a treat as it is expensive.I may be able to find malt powder and make my own, but you have to keep malt powder very dry. Any moisture from the air will turn it into hard lumps. I have read it may help you sleep which was one reason I bought it, and oh, my dog loves it too.I still like it but just save one cup for bedtime, but have to get up several times in the night for having a drink late at night.
