Essential Roswell reading
With vast witness testimony many people believe that something extraordinary crashed in Roswell NM, but the picture is far from complete. This book is fiction, but whatever you believe, this is an amazing literary work. It presents some of the most important elements to understanding what would have led to the formation of MJ-12, MajesticIt is hard for most people to understand the terror of the torturous Gestapo and the cost of freedom which America paid during WW2. There was a dark side to the happenings and those in power, in whose hands the protection of the common people lay, were strained to their wits end in dealing with these events around the most secure site in the world, the only air base with nuclear bombing capability.Deeper questions are dealt with. Was the crash intentional and did they thus trick our government into instituting policies which have enforced secrecy and excluded mainstream intellectual and scientific wisdom from coming to bear on the issues? Has the official denial and ridicule policies allowed the others to operate in secrecy without any significant public awareness to thwart their activities?Regardless if you believe in the Roswell crash of not, this novel is a page turner with insightful thinking. It makes it clear that in the case of contact, then or in the future, the ethical nature of our conduct is essential. The ability for humans to underestimate the level of advancement of the others in a contact situation, coupled with an attitude that one knows the truth, is a guaranteed formula for disaster. A book which is worth re-reading.

Worthy Read Parts 1 - 3
I've read most of Strieber's non-fiction and find it frustrating that the author persistently relies on emotion as a gauge for truth; if it feels good, it must BE good.Decided to give this "fictional" work of Strieber a try because Bill Cooper mentions it in his book, Behold a Pale Horse, where Cooper calls out Strieber as a paid purveyor of false-narrative, with this book being a psyop piece.Majestic does not disappoint!Having just finished all of Majestic, I wish I'd skipped Part 4.Parts 1 - 3 of Majestic are narritive and grounded in "reality". There are some astonishing, not pleasant, ideas / hypotheses introduced here that have stayed with me. Strieber demonstrates his incredible gift as an author in these first three parts of Majestic. But Part 4. Oh, my. Part 4 is an all-too-familiar repeat of Strieber's "raise your frequency" message. Part 4 almost completely ruined the book for me. What is telling, however, is the stark contrast between Parts 1-3 (intelligent discussion of novel ideas) and Part 4 (detailed description of a bad acid trip). Perhaps Strieber gave us Part 4 as a clue and a warning to ignore new age B.S. and pay attention to the ideas layed out in Parts 1-3.This book is definitely a worthy read.Parts 1 - 3 really scared me and I can't shake it.

great book- impossible to find in stores
Great piece of semi-historical fiction, or alternative historical fiction, loosely-veiled non-fiction, or science fiction (depending on your perspective on the issue).Majestic is yet another take on the events of the infamous alleged Roswell flying saucer crash and subsequent cover up in 1947. Centered around interviews with a career CIA man who was involved with government UFO research and deep cover intelligence from WWII until retirement, Streiber puts a few new spins on a story that's been dissected and written about 1000 times, as he inserts his usual perspective on the matter (if you're familiar with his other books).I read this book when first released and have never been able to find another copy in print in any Borders or Barnes and Noble anywhere in the continental US since the mid-1990's. Of all of his preachy alien abduction novels, it's surprising to me that this one is darn near impossible to find. If you're reading this for research into the Rosell incident, you won't find anything earth-shattering. If you're looking for a solid page turner to keep you busy on a cross-country flight, this is it. A good read, regardless of which category you place the book; it reads like a good Twilight Zone episode.

A novel that is beyond fiction!
If just half this novel is true then we humans have been modified and choreographed by the knowledgeable ones since the beginning of our time. This novel in some ways answers the question WHY. The aliens apparently believe, reinforced by our government's actions, that we humans are not ready for a conscious face to face meeting with them. Their solution was to trick the government into creating a top secret organization to keep them a secret. My understanding of this book and numerous other books is that the aliens are so far advanced that we cannot perceive or understand them in our human experience; therefore, the aliens have developed a method/program to transition mere humans to a higher level of knowledge and understanding. Their solution is to develop Hybrids that contain both human and alien DNA/characteristics. This is a stop gap method to ultimately create a new race of humans that have the psychic and mental integrity to began to understand these highly advanced aliens. Unfortunately numerous humans of all ages have been sacrificed by the aliens to meet that goal and our government is aware of this and completely defenseless to prevent it!An analogy being that to upgrade your computer from a 10.6 program to 10.9 program, you first have upgrade to 10.7 program, etc.. The problem is that the human brain needs to be upgraded to a 50.6 program and normal evolution takes too long, so the aliens have devised a method to speed up evolution and prevent us from destroying ourselves and the world we live on. We can only hope they are benevolent!
