Perfect size for 1 - 2 people and works superbly - and doesn't stick!
This is my 3rd rice cooker. I like the superb rice you get from a rice cooker, the convenience of just needing to switch it on, walk away, and wait for the click; the fact that it is superbly efficient for electrical current usage, and the joy of having negligible washing up to do afterwards. My first one (Asda own brand) worked fine for a few years although it was inclined to stick a bit at the bottom. It died after I accidentally left it on for a few days.I replaced that with another Asda one which I've been using for a few years. Rice had always stuck to the bottom more than with its predecessor, but recently the sticking at the bottom had become so bad it was becoming quite wasteful so I decided to look into getting a new one. This rice cooker was in the price range I was prepared to pay, had the bonus of a wee steamer tray addon which I might use occasionally, but best of all, it was also the right size. I live alone so I don't need a family size rice cooker.I was most impressed that not even a single grain of rice was stuck to the bottom of the pan at the end of the cycle, unlike my previous two rice cookers.I heartily recommend this rice cooker for 1 -2 people. Maybe 3 if you don't all have big appetites!Just passing on a few tips from having used rice cookers for a few years...Every rice cooker I've seen is ON and starts to get hot the moment it is plugged in the mains so I recommend you label the plug so you can see at a glance when it's plugged in, and you make a point of unplugging it the instant your rice is served, so you don't forget to unplug it afterwards. Also, do remember to plop your rice in a sieve and rinse in cold tap water to wash away the starch before you put it in the rice cooker. I also add roughly a tablespoon of olive/sunflower oil with the rice and water. If adding vegetables, e.g. frozen veg, they should be cooked separately and stirred in after the rice has cooked otherwise it will affect how well the rice cooks.

Read the instructions first! Makes the rest of it a piece of cake

broke 1 month and half after
We used this about once a week for a month and half until one day it the light went off mid cooking and the machine never worked again. We were always very careful to fully dry the bottom of the bowl before putting it in the machine. There is no reason for it breaking. Now we are just too late to return the item. Waste of money

Should have brought one years ago
It's so easy to use, perfect 👌 rice every time,Some times it browns a little on the bottom, but doesn't impair the taste, I'm more than pleased, worth the £16 that I paid

Not as effortless as I expected, but my standards are maybe just high, it still cooks rice!
This is my second rice cooker but first one I've bought here in Europe. I mainly ended up with this design because of the price point and color as well as its easy usability, but after using it a few times, it is easy to see where the quality has been affected because of the lower cost. For its price and advertised offerings, this rice cooker does exactly what it's meant to.Now if you've possibly had a rice cooker before, maybe of a different design, I could point out a few design flaws that have made a difference in how I use this cooker and how it does not necessarily reflect all of its advertised qualities. (yes, I just said that the product is exactly as advertised and it IS, but I am going to be nit-picky about the quality here).Three main issues I regularly have using this rice cooker are the high cooking temperature (that you cannot adjust. I won't make a point of that because it was never advertised for this model for the easier user experience) in combination with a too small "breathing hole" in the lid to open the airway and ensure the rice doesn't try to boil over. With bigger amounts of rice cooking, the lid definitely still occasionally looks like it's holding on for its dear life in order to not let the mess explode outside (so I guess props to the design for that saving grace!) but an adjustment to the airway in that regard would make for a more pleasant and less stressful cooking experience. My third issue with this particular model is how the measurements inside the pot are not very accurate, i.e. if you follow the measurements (for water) marked in the pot's inner wall in combination with rice measured in the cup that comes with the pot, there is a good chance of the rice burning. I don't think the rice to water ratio is correct, which causes the water to evaporate too fast in the high cooking temperature (instead of the rice absorbing it) and has left a few batches of hard and slightly burned rice. Now with all that being said, the issues that I mentioned are fixable on your own. That's why I'm not saying the product is bad, it just reflects the quality you get for this price range. The rice-water ratio can be fixed with the same tricks you would use if you cooked rice on the stove (I personally use the finger trick) or just adding extra water into the pot before you start cooking (or even during the process) if you're not picky about the type of rice you're making. The high cooking heat and rice trying to boil over from the pot just requires a bit more attentiveness on the chef's part, lifting the lid occasionally or using cool water to mediate the temp. (even if you add a little cold water to the pot while it's already cooking, it WILL still keep boiling, so no worries about that).I will keep using this rice cooker obviously, I still like cooking with it rather than on the stove. I'm not even upset about the quality of the pot honestly, I just hope that these couple of notes might make someone else's buyer and cooking experience a bit less explorative and chaotic than it was for me in the first weeks!
