Description

Knight attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Art and in 1872 went to Paris to study. He remained in France for the rest of his life, exhibiting frequently in United States. Purchased in 1922 by Thomas Gilcrease, "Rural Courtship" became the cornerstone of the Gilcrease collection.
