Perfect book for those that hate reading
My 11 year old loves this. Easy to read. Pictures are clear and bold. Perfect reading for kiddos that don't like to read or have a tough time with it.

I'm aware I'm overthinking, but basically I think they should have taken the time to watch the movie and read the books.
I picked a three star rating because the story wasn't awful, but it wasn't great as well. It just reminded me of a fanfic I read when I was a teenager. I personally don't like the idea that Jack and Oogie were once friends. That is just my opinion. Having them rivals at the beginning makes sense to me. As friends, though... What I was hoping to read from this comic is why Oogie was scared of Jack when he went into the Oogies's lair in the movie? Why did Jack and Oogie have a deep hatred towards each other? Having the competition makes sense for Oogies hatred, but for Jack part in point of view of the comic, it doesn't make any sense to me as of why Jack would hate Oogie as much as he does in the movie, if connecting the comic to the movie is the goal here. Jack would just be annoyed with Oogies present at most. Also with the other book, "The Pumpkin Queen," is meant to be a sequel for the movie mentioned that Jack was the only ruler for Halloween town. (Maybe i have to read the book again to be sure. I do have problems with that book too, but I digress,) overall, I personally would have done without the competition for who gets to rule Halloween town. Yes, I'm aware I'm overthinking this, and it is just a story, but the book and Manga need to make sense, and they need to connect properly. I personally would have Oogie as an outsider of Halloween town and had tried challenging Jack for the title if the competition has to be a must. Oogie could have noticed the praise and recognition that Jack was getting. Oogie becoming jealous of that, because in the movie Jack always get the praised for his work, with Jack being the type of person looking for something new to do, telling the mayor it sound like a fun idea or some along those lines, while treating oogie with Respect, until Oogie does something either during or outside of the competitions. Like in the comic. Also, I would've changed the challenges to be more suited to what the ruler of Halloween town does best, involving scares, tricks, and yeah, the pumpkins. Again, I'm fully aware I'm overthinking this. Just this is my favorite movie, and I rarely have the time to watch it. I try to make sense of the storyline for it all to connect whether they're Canon or not. I'm aware I'm a loser for this.

Great Book!!
Awesome book, it's actually taller than a typical manga size which I thought it was and it's a complete story of how Jack became a pumpkin king. Great price value. Thank you :)
