Wood Battery Operated Wall Light LED Indoor Bedroom Motion Sensor Night Light Magnetic Back Lamp

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Leapair Battery Operated Wall Light-LED Kids Bedroom Motion Sensor Night Light, and let me tell you, it exceeded all of my expectations. It's really beautiful. I decided to install it on my barn door to provide some extra light when I'm working in the evenings. Plus, the battery-operated design means you don't have to worry about finding an electrical outlet or dealing with messy cords. simply detach off the magnet and charge on computer or charger. It has a choice of turning on or auto detection. I got this item because I needed light under a desk to make periodic adjustments to network equipment. Its auto function did exactly what I needed, which was lighting up when my hands went into the area to work. However the sensor, under the little black dome in the first picture, covered too wide of an angle because local movements at the desk would activate the light when I didn't need it. So I took a 1 inch piece of PEX piping, and glued it over the sensor to restrict its range of detection. Now if my hands go under the desk to move a network cable, I have an automatic light with adequate light for my purpose (last picture) and don't have to fumble with a flashlight and have both hands free for use. I used the built-in magnet on the back of the unit to attach it to the desk. When I have to recharge it, it's a simple matter to pull if off the desk, charge it, and then set it back into place. This worked out better than I thought, and I'm already thinking about buying more for closets or other place where light is needed on demand. Recommended.

Update 8/4/24:BATTERY FAILED THiS DATE and there is no way to replace it. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Dropped rating from 4 to 2 stars. I expected he battery should last several years given the price.NO LONGER RECOMMENDED.Ordered the Leapair Battery Operated Wall Light-LED Kids Bedroom Motion Sensor Night Light for top of our basement stairs that is very dark. There is lighting but the switches aren't well placed. It's especially awkward to reach if you have your hands full (which is at least half the time🤦‍♂️). We knew a night light would solve the problem but there isn't an outlet. Thought this rechargeable motion sensing light might help and it works quite well overall. The initial charge was about 2 hours. The installation was exceptionally easy with the peel & stick metal mounting strip. The magnets in the light hold to it nicely but it will move if brushed so avoid mounting it in close quarters.We use the stairs 4 to 6 times a day (down & back up) so the light is used 8 to 12 times per day on average. The light goes off about 6 seconds after the last motion detected. So far this light has gone 38 days since my intial charging and appears to be still going strong. NOTE: This device requires a Micro-USB charging cable - a very short one is included.I have 2 small negatives. First, there is no low power indicator. So rather than let them go completely flat (which can damage some rechargable batteries) I will set a monthly reminder to recharge it. Second is the 6 second delay for the photo sensor to adjust from light to dark. Our house is oriented so the sun shines into the basement door in the mornings. So when the door opens the stairwell is flooded with sunlight. Step onto the stairs, close the door and you have instant night. We have to stand & wait for 6 seconds before the light activities and we can see enough to continue down the steps. This delay also happens when the stairwell light gets turned off. So a faster adapting photo sensor would improve my rating to 5 ⭐s but I still recommended this light.

I thought this would be bigger but I clearly didn't pay attention to the dimensions. I think this is way too small for the price and the production of this light. I don't think you should paying more than $15 for this for each one individually. This is okay. I like that it's battery operated because you can move it around. It does the job for a little area.

The light's case is real wood, not engineered or plastic. It comes with a metal strip with adhesive that acts as a base so the light can be easily detached and carried around. It has an on, off, and auto mode where the auto mode will make the light come on on when motion is detected but only if its dark. I've played around a bit with this and motion can be detected at 3-4 feet if you flail your arms wildly; otherwise it picks up normal movement at about 2 to 2.5 feet. I've had it continuously turned on for a little over an our now and it's still running on the factory charge so I do not think battery life will be an issue. Comes with a USB-A to micro USB cable, but not the actual charging block. I think they assume everyone in the world has a charging block, or a laptop, or some other device you can plug into to charge with. You're not going to need to charge it often if you just use it as a night light.
