The MRF-100 Expander increases your remote control's operating range to 50-100 feet with an RF signal. Control your home entertainment system through walls, doors, floors -- even outdoors. It's a great solution for expanding the range of your A/V components - plus no more need to point the remote at anything!

great for a loft room
We have a loft where our grandchildren stay and my mother when she is in town. We have this unit set up so we can control the sound, pause a dvd, turn off the unit and complete other functions without running up and down the steps or getting off the couch. We pause it a lot so we can communicate with them. We have another one on the basement floor so we can control the tivo and DVR without running upstairs to the console

Great product
This works great with my UC 300 remote. I have this in a cabinet where all of my equipment is and they all are able to respond to commands sent via the remote. Overall it is a wonderful product that does what it is to do and it is very easy to setup.

Great product
There no much to say. I used with the URC 200. It works very well. I installed on front of all my devices but it might be installed inside a hiden cabinet and you can hide all your devices!. It has IR extensions to place on front of every device.

Sent it back...
I have been looking for an item that will let me use my existing satellite controller when in a different room. I thought this would be an IR to RF transceiver / RF to IR transceiver. Just for the record this does not do that. This unit requires an expensive controller that transmits in RF and even then you have to buy (2) of these expander units for it to work. I thought it was a bit of false advertising since it never says that you have to have one of their expensive remotes; $99 - $150.Never used the product so I can't comment on how well it works if you end up buying one of the remotes, good luck.

Geat remote expander if you have the right remote
This expander works great for me. I had purchased a Home Theater Master MX-600 which comes with an expander but needed another. My home theater equiptment is in two separate locations. Bought this even though the manual does not list the MX-600 as compatable. Thanks to another review here I found out that it was compatible and have verified this to be true.

Expander really rounds out my remote control
I highly recommend the Expander. Having RF capability makes my URC200 always work without worrying about line of sight for IR control. Plug it in and it works.

Would be great if it works
I have no doubt this would have been an excellent product if it would have worked in my house.I had to hold the remote right up to the antenna for it to receive the RF signal. This was due to a lot of interference in my house. After trying several locations/positions, I couldn't get it to work.I emailed Universal Remote Control about it via their website, but they took a bit to answer, and I wasn't sure how log I had to return my purchase, so I sent it back. About 3 days after mailing it, they replied stating that there may be some low level interference, and to take the antenna off of the base with a small screwdriver and retest.Obviously I can't try that, but maybe someone else is having the same issue and can try it.Only reason I gave 3 stars is because I don't know how the RF really performs. I do know that, with the remote an inch or less from the antenna, this unit would send the signals and turn my equipment on/of (that's the only function I tested). I tried the extenders and they work too, but even without them it worked, and it was pointing at a wall more than 13ft away.
