Perfect tool for this job
PROS: -Little goes a long way. You get a big jar for a pretty small amount of money. In most things I’ve found you only need about a pea size amount of wax. So this jar should last you ages unless you’re literally tacking down a museum worth of items. -Works well. Like I said, I usually use just a pea amount of the wax in anything I need it for. And with that I even usually divide it into 4 parts and stick some on each of the four corners of my items and press firmly. After that, the items isn’t going anywhere. I don’t live in earthquake country and I don’t have a cat or child but I am positive it would work great against any of those. -Removes easily. A simple twist of the item and it comes off. And so far I haven’t had any issue with wax damage. -Easy to work with. It’s a simple matter of scoop, squad it between your fingers a couple times, place, and press. No real kneading required. CONS: -Although it is easy to work with it can be a little difficult to get a decent amount of wax out at once. The scoop it provides is pretty small and weak compared to the solid block of wax. Most things only need a small amount anyway so it doesn’t matter, but if you need a lot or need it often you’ll probably need to swap for a better scoop that can handle the thick wax. -Though I haven’t had an issue with wax damage, I can tell the residue can be a pain to get off. So far it’s been able to come off with simple rubbing but it might need proper cleaning at some times. I don’t know if this will adversely effect items you stick it to -Not clear. Personally I don’t count this as a negative since seems obvious that it is going to be white since it’s a wax and not a gel, but since it does say clear in the title I feel I should mention this. Overall if you need something like this, this is probably your best bet. I wanted to use the gel since it seems a little easier to work with, but that one specifically says it’s not good for wood or porous material. This one is supposed to be better for those materials so I tried it. I am not disappointed. I can also tell this is gonna last me for years.

Cat proof!
I have new kitten that likes to get into things, up on things, and weave around my treasured keepsakes. He also paws at my pictures on the wall and tilts them. I worry he is going to break one of them. He did break one of my favorite pieces of décor, knocking it in the floor from the top of my bookshelf, and I went on the hunt for something to keep my belongings secured. After some research I found this miracle of a product. I am happy to report that this stuff works like a charm. It is easy to use, easy to apply, and you have a few minutes of a window to remove it from the object, or to reposition it before it hardens a bit. To remove you just use a bit of dental floss or fishing line to cut it off and then clean any residue off with some all purpose cleaner. It's worked like a charm. I have seen him weaving through my things now and nothing budges. I even put a few pieces of it on the back of my picture frames, on the bottom corner, to act as a stabilizer. I'm pleased to report there's been no more tilted pictures! Just don't use TOO much, or it can squeeze out from the sides/bottom. You don't need nearly as much as you think you do. Ideally I'd like to keep him from getting up there, but all cat owners know that's easier said than done. I'm so happy that I got this product, it gives me peace of mind knowing I won't come home to all of my irreplaceable décor broken. If you have a rowdy cat, give this a try!

Benefits & drawbacks of wax
Living in earthquake country, securing anything hanging is a priority, so I have extensively used wax, putty, and gel throughout my home. How things are used determines the product. I prefer using wax for securing pictures (after they have been properly hung). Wax is soft and easy to work with, and it is easy to “softly” reposition pictures on small balls of wax until they are just right. Then a nice, firm push on all four corners at the same time, and the picture is held securely in place. No more crooked pictures, and no broken glass on the floor when someone accidentally brushes next to a picture. The photos and plaster items on the pictured wall continuously get knocked into and messed with by small children. Nothing has moved yet. I prefer their “solid” style wax when compared to their wax that already comes in balls. It’s a small hassle to have to dig out the wax, but different weights and sizes of pictures demand different sizes of wax, so the solid allows for any and all sizes and configurations. Wax is great for hanging up temporary posters too. It won’t pull paint off walls or damage surfaces such as wood, and it’s easy to place and remove the posters without damaging them. Wax definitely has its drawbacks. It gets dirty by holding on to dust, and it’s hard to clean, so if it’s used in a place where it can be seen, it needs to be replaced from time to time. It can also be a major pain to clean up some surfaces such as stucco. But wax is also semi-transparent, so it becomes a tossup at times whether to use wax or putty. I prefer this particular brand of wax because of its qualities. It’s soft and pliable when you work with it, but it hardens up afterward making it a little easier to keep it clean longer. While this is advertised as “quake” hold, this stuff is invaluable to anyone who’s experienced the benefits of continuously straight, undamaged pictures, even with small children running rambunctiously through the house! I also use it to secure some items to my mantle.

Super helpful!
I studied ceramics in college and I’ve admittedly, lost a fair enough number of pieces to seek a solution to my problem. Bring on museum wax! Since I have purchased this, I have used it to stick down my more unstable Funko Pop toys, fasten some plastic containers onto a shelf close to my armrest, and even hold some spacers against my wall so my TV can have a beautiful backlight! And that’s not even counting the reason I bought it, holding pottery in place. And now, about the product. When you buy it, it is thick like wax, almost like you’d never believe it will be soft. Using the diamond shaped scoop though, you quickly realize that it is quite pliable, with a bit of a sticky feeling against the hand. Once you apply it, depending on how much clearance there is, you will enjoy varying results—more contact with the base of the object will mean the item is more likely to stay put. So if you have a favorite piece of pottery you’d like to display, make sure to apply the wax to the foot of your piece rather than the center of the piece, as it will certainly not make it cat/bump proof, but simply make it slide resistant. Color-wise, it is semitransparent, but not really as clear as perhaps a superglue. That said, the removable quality makes the compromise worth…besides, it will generally be on the piece of your object that will not be seen. I haven’t had to remove it from the places I’ve used it, but I can already tell I feel comfortable with removing it from the objects I have placed it on and for the most part, the surfaces I am sticking it to are going to be able to handle removal effortlessly, unlike other simple application options like hot glue, which would certainly end up taking off parts of the wood shelving I set it on. And for what you truly end up using, short of a gallery setting, antique shop, or hoarder home, you’re going to have this stuff for the rest of your life—great value for money!

Softens in heat and leaves waxy residue
We are full-time RVers and purchased this to keep items in our motorhome from shifting while on the road. An RV traveling down the highway gets bounced around like a 2.0 richter earthquake! We needed a way to secure a table lamp, modem, router and bookends to the desk and our Brake-Buddy monitor to the dash. Pros: generous quantity, holds items firmly to surface to prevent sliding, storage container Cons: wax tends to soften and melt in heat, when softened items don’t hold well, leaves a sticky residue on surfaces Conclusion: this might work well in a climate-controlled environment and when you don’t plan to move objects to a new location. However, in a warm environment or when exposed to sunlight, this product softened and didn’t hold well. Worse yet, when it melted it left a sticky residue on the surface. I was able to clean it with goof-off, so it wasn’t permanent. For our needs, the Quake Hold putty is a better option; it held items firmly and didn’t soften or melt in heat. It is a much smaller quantity, but a little goes a long way. I wish it came in a resealable container, but a ziplock bag works.

My Glass Vases Are Safe
My cats likes to knock things off tables and counters to get my attention. When I had removed everything possible, Oliver started biting the glass vases on the entertainment unit! I had read about Museum Wax in an art magazine and thought I’d try it. There are a few different formulations, but I felt that the clear wax would be best for my purposes. It is easy enough to apply, but very sticky - test your surfaces first. It comes in a big tub, and I only needed a small amount, so I will never run out and could share it will all my family and friends if I choose to. You scoop some out with the included small wooden paddle, roll up a few little balls and stick them on the bottom of your item. The closer to the edges you put it, the more may squeeze out and you’ll have to clean up. In my photos you can see how the little bit that squeezed out collects dust (I was able to scrape it away). Now if they bite on the vases, or accidentally knock into them, they don’t budge! This is the best defense against kitty antics. If we had earthquakes in Florida, I’m pretty sure my vases are the only items that wouldn’t fall. January Update: One morning Oliver started biting on a large decorative glass plate on my dresser in an attempt to wake me up early for breakfast (it worked!) and knocked it out of its holder. I realized that although it gouged my wall, I was lucky that it didn’t break…so after feeding them, I reached for the Museum Wax, and 'glued down' the holder. Now I am confident that it's safe from his mischief. I have been planning on using it to secure my Charming Tails figurines on the bookshelf - the only thing giving me pause is that once it’s stuck down, it would be a pain to rearrange to add additional items. This stuff is great.

Does your cat keep knocking stuff off shelves? Buy this.
This is a waxy adhesive for display items, like vases, collectibles and other items. You scoop out a little ball from the jar, press it into the bottom of the item and then bang it up on the shelf. It holds very well, and after a day or so, it's pretty much immovable from bumps and jostles. You can hold the item upside down and it won't move, but the surfaces they're applied to do have to be fairly smooth. I bought this to adhere model bases to temporary holders for painting, but I've also begun to stick it on the bottom of figurines on shelves to keep my kitten from toppling them when he wants to jump on the display shelves in the living room. I would not recommend this for items in cardboard boxes, so if your funko pops, action figures or whatever are kept inside their original boxes and not in acrylic protectors, don't use it. It will leave a slight waxy stain on the bottom of the box. If you don't have them in their boxes, don't care about a little miscolored section of the box or have them in protectors, this is a great way to keep them stable on display shelves. It's also a huge amount of the stuff, so you're not going to run out unless you run a museum or gallery and use it constantly. You can reuse it if you're keeping it clean and not letting it sit out. It tends to get a little too stiff to use if you've got it sitting out for a long time.

Great product overall!
This product is extremely good for sticking statues or figures down. I use this on my hot toys collection to stop them from falling over. Only thing I didn’t like is it’s more like a glue than a putty. But overall good product

Very useful around the house
When you want to keep something in place, fairly securely, these are great Especially in places where there is potential for bumping, this product has worked well for me. Don't be shy, and use a decent sized blob, and really squish what you are mounting to the surface. You may need to warm up the wax in your hand first, or at least get it to room temperature When you want to remove, it's not the easiest to clean, but not impossible. I just use some dirty rags, and throw them away after

100% worth it!
After reading a review saying they had a rock collection and it held their rocks nicely in place I too purchased it. Come 4 days later after using it to hold my crystal collection in place on my shelves I can confirm not a single crystal moved while there was a demolition excavator nextdoor ripping down the the house next to us and our house was shaking. We had drywall crack but nothing with the museum wax moved!!! Very pleased. Highly recommend. It claims to also be resusable which I would believe. Only flaw is if the house is really hot (summer windows open) it can get soft and more may be needed for reinforcement still worked fabulous.
