I learned how to snap a bull whip when I was a kid. I gave my last one to my nephew when he leaned how to do it. I took a risk by buying this one before handling it. I am extremely pleased with the quality and feel of this whip. This is the best quality and easiest to use bull whip I have owned.

This is a complete false ad. It stated genuine cowhide. Uponbunbagging the whip I found a hard melted spot in the plaiting. I'm not sure if they had joined 2 strands together there it were tring to cover up a ragged edge but leather doesn't, melt, roll and turn hard like that- nylon does. If you've ever cut a nylon cord or stap and burned the end to seal it- that's what was done here and that's whstvit felt like. Upon further inspection you could see that no part of this whip was leather. At the tip where the strand ends could be seen there were clearly differen color layers of material and where the fall is and the snapper attaches the back of the fall had shiny flecks embedded and showing in the sides. Leather doesn't have that. I collect whips. I should have known by the price- but it clearly stated genuine cowhide. Don't fall for it. It's ultra low quality pleather not leather.

The whip is top quality but I could not give it 5 stars because the seller cannot ship in a timely manner. This is my second order from this seller and both time they could not give me accurate tracking information and the orders were always late

What a BEAUTIFUL, well made, and sturdy bullwhip this is! In all honesty it is truly a work of art! The leather is of excellent quality, and the craftsmanship is second to NONE! The first thing I did was work the entire length by hand to loosen up the leather. Then I followed it up by working in a little Neetsfoot oil to provide ultimate protection and pliability. The 8 plait braid is uniform throughout the entire length of the whip, and the Turks head knots are just gorgeous! It is functional in every sense of the word, and will last a lifetime. If you LOVE leather and appreciate outstanding quality and craftsmanship, this is the whip for you! Even if it is only a show piece, what a conversation starter! My hat is off to Ardour Crafts for making good on everything they promise! This is NOT the last purchase I will make from them!

This leather whip looks amazing and would be perfect with a Indiana Jones costume or decoration. Not sure it to be used as a functioning whip. It not heavy enough.

Good quality
