The rotary reaction is smooth. The vise has good adjustment points and it is very well-made. The materials are of high-quality and it operates well. I did have one issue after tying about a dozen flies where the jaws of the vise became a bit loose from the arm. Through the app, I made an inquiry and Cub River Outfitters got back to me promptly. They offered to send a replacement head, but also explained the other option was take apart the jaws and tighten the mounting screws (which aren’t visible when the jaws are together), if I was comfortable doing so. I gave it a shot and it was a quick fix. I think the screws probably just weren’t tightened quite enough during the assembly process, but if the problem reoccur occurs, I’ll just use a little bit of thread lock to secure them. I was very happy with the prompt response from the seller and their offer to make it right. Review: Excellent for a budget fly tying vice! - I am very happy with this vice. It will adjust to hold from Tanago to 10/0 hooks well. Very versatile with all the actual functionality of higher end vices. Base is heavy and solid, I have had no issues with it moving or tipping over. Other reviews pointed out that some of the joints can be moved after tightening, I agree. The head swivel and joint really need to be reefed on to get them to where they will not move. But, not an issue unless you are pulling very hard on threads when tying. This has not been an issue with anything I have done on mine. Finger tight is all that has been required in my uses. Build quantity is very good. Joints and levers machined well and function perfectly. The head jaws are a fine enough point to hold and work on those tiny Tanago, or size 26 hooks. Only complaint I have is the main rectangular tray has perpendicular sides at the edges. They are not beveled like the smaller circular ones are. Picking up anything small you cannot drag it with a finger to the side and ‘slip’ it out of the tray. You need to use tweezers to pick them up. It would have been nice to have at least one side beveled and I will likely correct this by building an epoxy ‘ramp’ on one side. I would buy again and would highly recommend to anyone who does not have the funds or need to spend for a Renzetti.

Nice vise, loose screws minor issue
Overall a very nice vise at a good price point. One issue as mentioned in a previous review. The jaws were very loose when I put together on the bench. I had to take jaws apart and tighten two loose screws hidden by the head. Once tightened they work just fine.

Great vise, great customer service
Great vise, securely holds even #22 hooks. Love the rotation feature, and have never noticed any issues with it rotating while tying flies even with the screw loose, yes you can make it rotate when it's fairly snug, but it has never rotated when I didn't want it to, I can break most thread long before the vise moves unwantedly. That being said there is some play in the joints, but it's never been an issue for me when tying. I did have a small issue with a small spring failing in the clamp head, after several hundred flies, no way for them to predict a spring breaking behind a ball bearing. But it did happen. I looked up the company and gave them a call describing my issue, 3 days later a brand new full clamp head assembly was delivered. They went above and beyond to make sure I was quickly back tying flies. So for me the customer service was stellar, and I had 0 problems getting my issue resolved at 0 expense to myself. So in my opinion this is a great product for the price.

Great vise for the price!
Spent a lot of time thinking about moving beyond a beginner's vise (common travel vise kit) to something more sturdy with more versatility for fly tying. This vise suits my needs, rotary with a heavy base (can be placed in a clamp setup if needed but does not come with clamp) as it has true rotary function and fluid rotation, metal jaws that can hold a variety of hook sizes, jaw locks that enable easy hook setup without damaging the jaws, and the additional features of a bobbin holder (that can be swung out of the way when tying thread) and materials catch (easy to set up spring for materials prepped to the back of the hook). Comes with tightening tools for fully locking moving/rotating parts into place, and was easy to set up and use out of the box. So far so good in terms of build quality. Admittedly, lots of other vises do the same thing and are just as sturdy and I one of the reasons I chose this because it had a nice teal color (yup, a deciding factor. I'm a dork). I don't even see the teal color available anymore, so yay for me! But beside the color scheme, it's a rock solid vise with at a reasonable price. You could pay more for essentially the same thing on an expensive "pro" brand that professional fly tyers, but why? If you've got the cash, sure, go ahead, but if you're on a budget and want something of quality that can stand up to the basic rigors of the hobby, then this one is a good bet that should last for years with proper care (as in DON'T over-tighten things!!). Yeah, you could probably snap the jaws if you're not careful-- this vise is made with a precision knob and lock so you can avoid doing that --so, word to the wise, be careful!

Would not recommend
This vice looks nice but it’s very poor quality. I’ve had it for about 6 months and there is a lot of play in the vice mechanism itself. There’s no way to tighten it and it’s pretty much unusable at this point. I would recommend anyone looking for a new vice to shop other brands. Save your money and get a good quality tool.

Awesome little fly tying vise!! I’ve tied a lot of flies in this vise and really enjoy using it. I would def recommend it to anyone getting into the hobby!!

Nice vise, nice price
When it comes to tying vices, you should 100% listen to what other people say and not cheap out on your purchase. I made that mistake twice before purchasing the Nirvana V2... The price is reasonable and the quality is excellent. The pedestal base is nice and heavy, the rotary spins smooth, and the clamps work great. I'm glad I decided to return everything else and get this.

Great product and customer service
Vise is very nice and works well. I had an issue with the bobbin cradle collar, as it was stripped and not holding properly. I contacted Moon Lit Fly fishing (Cub Outfitters) and they are sending out warranty replacement parts at no charge. Customer service is very good and I would buy from them again!

2 minor complaints
I really like the vise only complaints I have is the 2 screws inside the hook clamp loosen a lot and the spin tension doesn't do much.
