My mother recently need a full anterior recession which means she now has to wear a colostomy bag. Anyone who has one or is required to help them change the wafer, especially on a blowout, will understand the importance of keeping this from occurring as one of the more difficult challenges. A challenge that is unpleasant at best. We happen too use Hollister 2 piece systems with disposable bags, but this product will work with any colostomy product. One of the most difficult parts of replacing a new wafer is ensuring that the part off the wafer directly around the stoma has too be sealed against the skin as that is the point where any blowout will start. As soon as any feces is able to bypass that skin to wafer barrier is all over but the waiting. Pressing down with your fingers immediately around the stoma on the wafer is extremely difficult if not impossible to do correctly every time. Often that same pressure makes the stoma erupt. This device allows you to put even, constant pressure at all points of contact around the immediate area of the stoma and hold it there long enough for a solid seal. Using this has resulted in 0 blowouts in the 2 months we've been using it. I also like to use a little medical adhesive on the sticky side of the wafer, allow it took get tacky and then apply using this device. It has made the frustration level abate and eliminate that particular accident, and restore some self esteem and confidence in my mother.Such a simple device can make such a drastic improvement. That's a no brainier.

I guess I didn’t read it clearly enough bc I didn’t realize that the white waste tube was sold separately. I don’t fault the company for that, I just wish it was more clear that you are only buying the blue piece. I guess bc the photos show both pieces, I assumed. We all know what assuming makes you.I hope my review helps others that didn’t realize this.

Very difficult to use for a single older person.

Waste of money

I am so excited that Amazon is carrying these. I was introduced to this device from an Ostomy Support group. I received some samples and it has changed my life. I had tried so many other products that never worked. The stress of caring for myself and the infections/skin irritation I had prior to using Stomagienics has and my mental state has improved so much since my surgery. Since using these I have been able to start traveling again without being scared and embarrassed about changing my bag. Thank you for carrying these.
