Smart, unobtrusive and adaptable.
The Salter EK5872 is a very smart, unobtrusive and adaptable air fryer and a bargain at the current Amazon price of ยฃ99.99 v Salterโs current ยฃ132.99. We were looking for a versatile capacity air fryer that was not too big for a retired couple. We looked for smaller drawer capacity to cook just a โhandfulโ of chips or a few onion rings or hash browns as well as a couple of steaks or chops (more exotic menus to follow?) without having to uneconomically use our main oven. Operation is relatively intuitive but as has been pointed out there is no preheat function (debatable?). The current product description does however say no need for this. As has been pointed out previously there is an error in the very skimp manual which states โalways preheat before starting to cookโ. This has been acknowledged as an error to be removed in future editions. Another reviewer commented that the quoted external dimensions as stated are 37.8W X 36.4D x 31.9H cm but that includes the handles. These protrude 5 - 7.8cm and therefore the actual on bench footprint is smaller at only 28D cm. Someone enquired about internal drawer dimensions on the Salter web site but they could not provide this info - could they not have opened a box and measured! The Salter basket with divider in place at 2 x 4L is ideal. We also wanted the capacity to be able to cook a large chicken or joint with roast veg when needed, and the 8L capacity with the divider removed is ideal for this. The inside dimension is slightly larger than suggested in an other review at 32L x 22D x 10.5H cm. It was difficult sourcing a silicone liner basket for this and currently the only suitable one would appear to be the Goodpejine (for Duronic AF34) large silicone liner. This is advertised as 31L x 21W x 9.5D cm. This does slope inwards to a base of 28W x 17L x 10D cm so easily fits, especially with the overly flexible sides! Other makes vary between 34 - 37cm length and are too big. With the divider fitted the individual size of each compartment is slightly less than half at 15.5 W x 22 D cm. There are lots of makes of liners out there around 13 W x 19 D cm which will fit but I would advise a larger size such as the redesigned larger Moleath at 14 W x 20 D cm and this allows for the insertion of various (check dimensions) racks. Now the experimenting and learning curve starts for us - so far so good! If purchasing donโt forget to go onto the Salter web site and register for the extended 3 year warranty. PS. After a month we are very satisfied with this for our needs. One point which we discovered, which an other reviewer mentioned, is to NOT FILL DRAWER WITH WATER to stand after cooking - IT DOES LEAK AROUND THE GLASS INSPECTION PANELS and onto the bench and floor!

is this a Tardis?
OK so is a big black box from the outside but...seems bigger inside? Been using a single basket 7 inch round model for some time, got fed up shuffling food around and having to use microwave at same time so bought the Salter. I see now the round thing was more 'body' than cooking space. Easy to use, screen seems logical to me, big spaces inside (sorry to go on but I am a bit impressed!), not noisy, heats up quickly, does the job...billy bonus, not had to buy any new containers as all my regular oven dishes (medium sized I would say) and a 6 hole cake tin fit just fine No idea where it falls in the hierarchy of air fryers, probably doesn't have snob value like the big names but it works well

Been impressed so far but
Bought this about 4 weeks ago. Been happy with functionality, build quality and product. Used it maybe 10 times, bought some silicone trays to help cleaning. Just noticed the bottom is puffing smoke, perhaps a seal not working. Not sure ๐

Good value
Easy to use , I have a single pot ninja but was too nervous to use the pressure cooking. I find the salter brilliant as the two draw enables you to cook different items at the same time and with the removable separator you can cook larger items .

Not the easiest to clean
I bought this to use while my kitchen was being refitted. I didn't think I'd use it again afterwards, so went for something not too expensive - I chose it after reading a magazine review of the best air fryers. It's a good size and I thought the divider for dual cooking would be useful - in fact I've only used this divider a couple of times, and without the divider in the trays don't really fit very neatly, so another time I'd choose one with a single large drawer. I was new to air fryers and was surprised by how efficient and versatile it is - so good that I have continued to use it in my new kitchen. So now I'm wishing I'd chosen a higher end model, one that goes in the dishwasher. It's fiddly to clean, and the non-stick coating started coming off the trays almost the first time it was used. Overall I'm pleased with it, but I think that's the air-fryer as a concept rather than this particular model, which is OK and easy to use, but not perfect.

Canโt Stop using it.
I love this Air Fryer. I havenโt used my oven for two weeks since I bought it. Itโs great that you can remove the separator so instead of having 2x4 litre sections, you can take out the centre piece and you have a 8 Litre oven . It cooks the food great wouldnโt be without it now. ๐๐

First Air Fryer. Happy with it!
Salter EK5728 Fuzion Dual Air Fryer. I did my research and chose this one and am not disappointed. Easy to use, comes with clear instructions, and I like the dual aspect. The only thing that's slightly frustrating is there is no way of knowing when it's up to temperature. So many recipes say, preheat to, and I have to guess. I think other models have a beep or something. Its a shame, and lost it the one star
