Very good
I like it, I bought a second one.. it's small enough to be handed easily but not too small in terms of what you can carry inside, it's just a good size. It's sturdy enough and easy to carry around.. not sure about the tray, depends on what you wanna store in it. I have my 'electrician tools' box with screwdrivers, pliers, etc.. I keep different colors insulating tape on the tray + tape measure, mains tester, scissors, voltage detector, a mini level, a stubby hammer (lightweight) and a couple of screwdrivers I use the most. At the bottom I keep multimeter, bigger pliers, crimpers and an empty tool belt etc. Then for the second toolbox I removed the tray, and in there I keep a few chisels, 3 hammers, a hacksaw, pipe cutter and some long SDS bits.. it would all have fitted in with the tray also, but it was a bit of a squeeze and I had no use for it (mainly because the SDS bits are a tad long, so I need to keep them in diagonally.. and keeping the tray became like playing tetris, so I just took it out). The compartments at the top are quite handy, I keep rawl plugs there, cable clips, electrical screws etc.. Overall I like it, if you need a toolbox that is manageable, sturdy and you can carry around with ease. The box with the hammers is quite heavy too, it's been around for a couple of years now and it hasn't broken yet (or changed shape). If it will ever break one day, I'd buy it exactly the same again.. 15 pound is a very good price.

Great toolbox
This has been my work toolbox for nearly two years so far, filled full of spanners, sockets, screwdrivers etc. The box has stood up very well especially as it usually weighs nearly 20kg. I particularly like the useful storage in the lid of the box, handy to have a few nuts, bolts, fuses etc with me. Being plastic and having good rounded corners means it doesn’t scratch paint or vehicle interiors. Catches work well, and latch securely, strong hinge and the handle is decent and comfortable to carry round. Just a shame about the gap in the handle of the tray as this lets the small bits you put in the tray so you can find them fall through into the box underneath, otherwise perfect.A good size box for a tool kit, well made and lasting well.

It’s a toolbox
It’s a 16 inch toolbox, on the outside. Its stylish shape means that it’s less than 16” on the inside. The “useful” little boxes in the lid mean that it’s even smaller inside. And the “useful” handled caddy even further reduces the internal dimensions.Could Stanley not have mentioned the internal dimensions? If I wanted a toolbox for a few spanners, screwdrivers, screws and nails it would be a useful box.My MacAllister multi-tool came in its own carry-case, with accessories. My MacAllister angle-grinder came in a cardboard box which soon fell apart. Why not in its own carry-case? It now lives in this Stanley tool-box, which is just about the right size (without the caddy). Now I need to get cases for all my Ryobi One+ tools and batteries (C’mon Ryobi, get your act together!).My JCB circular saw is naked and exposed, as is my Bosch power-sander.Does anyone know where I can get fitted power-tool cases? Please?!As to the box itself, it’s cheap and plastic. The clip is metal, but the hinges are not; why did they lie?The padlock loop is plastic and very thin; with a padlock in place I could twist and break it with no trouble at all.But why bother? It has a useful handle for the tealeaves to carry it away!

Nice for your hand tools.
Perfect size for your hand tools etc; very sturdy and has a padlock locking eye and an internal top shelf. Now the first thing you may want to do to make your box a little more secure is to remove the 2 metal hinge bars from their holders, they just slide out, and cut 10mm off each then reinsert them, using a lighter or a heat source melt the 4 ends of the plastic hinge holders so the bars can no longer be slid out so easily(see pictures) sounds complicated but is very easy to do, otherwise when you lock the lid using a padlock all someone has to do is slide the hinge bars out and then their able to help themselves to the contents! Not sure why this wasn't done in the factory? But apart from the security issue these are great little tool box's and are also stackable, locking into place with small guide lugs.

best toolbox if you follow the rules
I have 50 of them. If you lift from the handle when the closer is towards you, it will hold 70 kilos at least. If the other way than the handle will pop out. Do not sit on it, it will crack and than the handle comes off ... again. The best toolbox I ever head. Easily can be stored on the top of each other. Very strong and reliable, long life. Worth every penny. I use a light trolley to carry it around and than I can lift it up to carry on stairs ... full with tools. If you fill up the top little gray section with heavy accessories (drill bits, tubular, screws etc..), make sure the lid is smoothly closed and than when you open the big lead, do not swing it violently, otherwise the small lids will pop open. Usually I open the big section and it rests on bars of the trolley or a wall. This way, I can use it happily, never have a problem with it. Drills, flex and other big tools fit in it without problem. Can be carried in a vehicle or stacked in van on top of each other.maximum rating.
