I liked that a have to do some woodworking. The fitting of the the necd to the body needed to be adjusted. The frett board was a little bit warped, but it glued on flat*. Didn't do a frett levelling. I also had to adjust the screw holes of the bridge(plug, realigned redrill) . It's a good kit to practice finishing.

This ukelele was fun to build. However, the premade holes for the bridge screws were out of place with what the instructions described, and the holes for the tuning pegs were unevenly spaced. The screws given in the kit broke down when I tried turning them, but with some help I was able to figure out a way to get them to work. Despite all the problems during construction, my final soprano ukelele worked just as well as my Luna brand $79 ukelele. I would recommend using Aquila strings instead of the ones given in the kit, though, because it made a big difference in the final product. I would definitely reccomend this, though because of how well it turned out.

Ok, let's get this straight upfront. No matter how well you build this it will be a piece of crap compared to a ukulele that you can buy for $40 here on Amazon. That said, I had a lot of fun building, painting and trying to play it. It is playable, just please don't expect very much. Everything will be just a little off and it won't stay in tune. Order better strings when you order the kit and that'll help. I'd recommend anyone wanting to learn the ukulele to buy and build this kit, it'll teach you a few important things about the instrument.

I got this for a Christmas present and it would've been nice if all the necessary parts/equipment were there. All the pieces for the ukulele were included, even down to these unnecessary gloves. But, wood glue which is needed for most of the assembly was not. I might have missed it in the description but it didn't say you had to buy anything extra. When someone is wanting to put their Christmas ukulele together but they can't it's disappointing.I give it 3 stars because that is average. I will update once we actually get to put it together and see how that goes.

This product was better than expected!Mt 5 year old granddaughter loved it! I drew what she wanted and she colored the drawings. I then finished building it. She loves playing it

Compared to similar items the quality is pretty poor.

This is a great little project for kids. My son loves it, it just doesn’t stayed tuned for very long.

The quality of the materials used to create it are wonderful. We bought it for our newly born grandson.......we bought it, his dad will build it, and his mom will decorate it. So it will be his first instrument and it will be built with LOVE.
