Dear customer, we did the test of radiation blocking of laptop, you could see that the radiation is greatly reduced after covering the radiation blocking fabric. The fuction is same as used on microwave oven. Hoping this is helpful to you.

If I want to use it for lap and stomach protection when I'm using my laptop will the laptop still work?

The so-called protection fabric, from what I've discovered, is virtually useless and doesn't seem to block anything. When you use a computer, your best protection is connection by Ethernet cable. Get rid of Wifi. That solves most of the problem.
