I have a laptop dock and used two of the three video outs. My final option for the 3rd monitor was using the USB-C port. My monitor, however, doesn't have USB-C. It does have DP, mini DP, HDMI, etc. So I figured I'd give this a try.It has been two weeks now. From the time I plugged in the cable, it has worked and has had no hiccups. I actually didn't expect it to be this easy because I have little USB-C experience. The dock specified that this port was my 3rd monitor option, and it worked! Needless to say I'm pleased.

I bought two of these to connect my 2018 Macbook Pro to 2 external Dell monitors. One of the cables stopped working after about 3 months. They are cheap enough that I bought one to replace it. Cables, like any hardware, sometimes just fail so we shall see how the new one holds up.

Solved my connection problem

This works perfectly. I teach college statistics and psychology and I use it to connect my Surface Book 2 to a projector in the classroom so I can demo things on screen. I needed it urgently and had my fingers crossed it would actually work and it is perfect.

I've used this to connect a Samsung Galaxy S9 and a Huawei P20 to my LG TV. Picture quality and input lag were both good. Cable quality and connectors seem pretty durable. So far everything works as expected.

I was using this to connect to an older iMac that has target display mode, and was going crazy troubleshooting why it just stopped working. So, I bought a new cable, and that works fine. I don't know what could go wrong with just a cable... I'm guessing there are some kind of electronics in it to handle translation to DisplayPort.

The cable worked well for about 3 months, then just completely stopped functioning. I know it’s cheap, but I expected a longer lifetime.

This more than met my needs and I purchased another one for the office.The wire quality is very good and is really durable.
