Can you fry chicken with this?

I have done it. Grease/oil is hard on the spring loaded valve and becomes sticky over time. I do bbq and teriyaki chicken regularly. Amazing pan. I've owned this one since1990Bob

Can I clean it in a dishwasher?

The lid truly is self-cleaning, so no need there. Mine is shiny after years of use. Occasionally I wash the base in the dishwasher and it works well. As I recall, hand-washing is recommended, but doing this has not caused any damage in mine.

Can you cook a cup of dry beans? How long does it take? My old presto takes 40 min without soaking and 20 with soaking.

We typically make about 4 cups at one time. It takes about 20 to 25 without soaking. Soaked beans ate faster.How this helps.Bob

If I want to pressure fry fish, do I need to add water? Or will frying oil suffice?

Because fish takes very little time to cook I'd fry with the lid off unless you want fish soup..I have three different size pressure cookers and use all sizes sometimes with the lids off as a frying pan so they are in constant use.
