Dakine Women's Prom Laptop Backpack

Needed a backpack for my daughter to take to 4th grade. She used it every day for the entire school year and it still looks brand new. Carries weight well, Straps can be tightened so that it rides in the optimal position on the back of an elementary school kid, but will adjust enough for an adult. Storage is good as is the quality of the straps and zippers. Good padding and nice lining. Holds a huge school binder as well as a bag of lunch and whatever else gets shoved into a 4th graders bag. One of the side pockets zips open and has a water bottle net/storage area so you can slide the bottle into the side pocket and secure it. This bag will last years!2 YEAR UPDATE - This bag is still going strong after 2 solid years of use. Headed to middle school this year and the laptop sleeve will come in handy. After 2 years of daily school use, this bag looks almost new. If you are considering bags at half this price, you'll probably replace them every year. We'll easily get 3 years, if not 4 out of this bag so it's well worth the cost. Thanks Dakine!

I really like this bag because:-the material is not heavy but strong, very ideal for a petite female for sure!-the insulated compartment is very useful since I'm on campus most of the day on weekdays, the food has not gone bad thus far-i was a bit worried at first because there aren't as many compartments (only the big one for books, the middle one for small bags and pens, the insulated part for food, and a mini one at the front for quick grabbing of small items) but it turns out it's enough for a college student like myself-i was hoping the mini compartment would have a zipper (i mean it's NYC folks) but it doesn't. I just fix this situation by not putting too important items in there and pushing them all the way to the bottom-the bottle pocket is nicely designed and can be zipped closed if not used-finally, the bag isn't too big. I am 5'2'' and it fits me nicelyI am sure this bag will last me for a long time (hopefully till I graduate). I would say give it a try!-K

I am so happy with this backpack. I bought this mainly as a 'over-night' pack that I could throw some clothes and toiletries in when I'm away for a day or two. It fits my clothes, laptop, as well as other misc. items very comfortably. When I go away, it's usually to NYC, which means lots of walking from trains and standing and waiting for trains, but the backpack doesn't feel at all like it's straining my back or shoulders like my other pack has. The straps are very comfortable and I forget how full it is.The compartments are simple (which is something I really like), and there's a few fleece lined pockets which are perfect for sunglasses.I chose Dakine after noticing a friend had the bag (who is also on and off the road A LOT), so I figured this pack would be a great investment. I am also in my final weeks of college and this bag has been great for going to class as well as the field-trip labs my science program takes. It's not big and bulky, but still carries a lot of things without weighing you down.

I love this back pack first for its awesome color! It is a pretty color but dark enough that it will not pick up stains and make it visible like a lighter color would.The straps are thick enough and sturdy to help really support the weight added to the backpack by books, school material etc.I love that it has a padded sleeve inside that helps keep a 14-15 inch notebook safe. It is convenient for me so that I can carry my notebook and school books all in my back pack and this way I free my hands. It is annoying to have to carry an additional school bag just for your notebook.The zipper pocket on top of the back pack is great because it is lined with fleece to help keep eyeglasses protected. I also use this pocket to keep my headphones!What I DO NOT Like is that the pockets meant for water bottles are too small. They are also zippered but I can’t keep a regular 8 oz water bottle there because the zipper won’t close and the water bottle often seems to be on the verge of falling out because the pocket is too small.

I've been using this backpack every single day since I got it. I needed something to carry my things to and from work, something that wasn't too bulky but suited my personality. This is perfect! The back pocket has a partition for a laptop, the middle pocket has slots for writing utensils and a smaller pocket within to hold small odds-and-ends. The front pocket is insulated so you can carry your cold items in it. It's not very large, so don't expect to carry your entire lunch in there, and when the rest of the backpack is full, you can fit even less in this pocket. There are two side pockets which look like they could fit a water bottle, but my bottle is just a little too large to fit in them. That's a bit of a let down. There's also a tiny pocket at the top of the backpack meant to hold your phone/ipod and headphones. Other backpacks I've owned that had this feature usually had a small hole in it so the headphones could feed out and be used even if the the phone/ipod was zipped away. This backpack doesn't have that feature, unfortunately. Overall, I really love the backpack. The colors are fantastic, and the inner lining is even pretty (white with blue and pink flowers). Very satisfied!
