M6 Carpet Spikes with Lock Nuts

Bought these to fit a set of custom wooden stands I was making. Just the job.

These spikes were bought to put on my Sub as I had lost the original ones after using feet for a shelf it sat on. After a change in furniture it was necessary to fit spikes again as the sub was going on the carpet. These spikes seem to be longer than the ones that came originally which makes them better at going through the carpet and hitting a solid base for a good stable footing giving.

I bought a replacement sub-woofer (a Gale 3080) from eBay after my old one blew up after over 10 years use.Sadly, when buying second hand speakers one thing that's often missing is the floor spikes.These are a perfect replecement. They look identical to the ones that came with my original 3080 and are well made and fit perfectly. (I still have the old speaker in case I can get the amp in it repaired which is posing a bit of a problem at the moment - hence buying a second set of spikes rather than just transferring from the old cabinet.)They provide good isolation which is a must especially for bass heavy speakers such as a sub - this stops the vibrations transferring through the floor and causing things to rattle. If you use vinyl then they really are an essential as sub bass or even just regular bass transferring through the floor can feed back via the turntable and stylus creating a horrible bass feedback loop.The pack contains the spikes and the locking nuts to allow you to lock them at the right height to get a stable speaker, but the do not include the threaded sockets. They are therefre intended as replacement spikes rather than being a spike set to retro-fit to non-spiked speakers.Make sure you buy the right size as M6 and M8 versions are available. Other than that you won't be disappointed.

You get 8 spikes and 8 nuts. With holes all the way through the base of my stands I need two nuts on on each spike - one to stop it from falling through and one to secure it firmly from the top, so I had to source 8 additional bolts. Also washing the residue oil from the machining process would be nice.
