Top-Notch Louisville Slugger Quality, Though Heavier than Aluminum
We have always been fans of Louisville Slugger bats and this one does not disappoint. We bought this bat for my 11-year-old son to play on his Majors Little League team. Usually, kids at this level play with aluminum bats since they are lighter and kids can get the speed of their swing to be faster. So, this will be a bit of a slower bat to begin with. However, we opt to go with wood for the very reason that it will develop more strength which will, in the long term, make them a better batter. So, remember that this bat is going to be significantly heavier than an aluminum bat. However, the price point on this particular LS is better as well. The bat is very solid and, when it was opened, all three of my kids thought it looked really good. They loved the look and feel of the bat.

Amazing Baseball bat
I bought it for my son for christmas. He absolutely loved it the color black with gold. I was very impressed with the quality and price. Very fast shipping too. It's very durable and a good weight for a bat.

Great for Practice and getting ready for a game
The bat felt slightly heavy for youth, but it is a great tool to get the strength up and prep for a game.

Hits dingers
My kid hits with it daily in the cage, gives better feedback than the composite or alloy game bats. It’s a good balanced bat comparable to his game hype fire game bat. As a player if you want to get all the baseball moms and the pitcher’s hot older sister all hot and bothered by the way you wield your stick crushing bombs… practice. A $400 bat won’t fix a $20 swing.

Varies greatly in materials and quality.
Each year Rawlings comes out with what has essentially been the same youth bat in different livery, and in years past you would choose to buy the Y125 bat as maple or ash. Each year I would order a maple bat in the length needed for a growing ballplayer. This year there is only the option to buy the bat as “wood”. Reading reviews elsewhere the consensus seemed that it was still maple or ash, only now it was whichever you happened to get. This cannot be correct.I ordered a bat at the start of the season, it was pretty good for a youth bat. We got about twenty practice sessions and a dozen at-bats with it before it broke (on an inside pitch that would have been hard on many bats). So, I reordered to finish out the year… the bat that replaced it was the same color and length, and that is it. The first bat was 26.40 ounces and was likely ash. The new bat was 20.15, 6-1/3 ounces less! At that weight must be poplar? It seems to have the density of a low grade pine 2x4. A variation in weight for wood bats is expected, but that is beyond reasonable from the same model bat. So, likely the good ones are good, but I don't want to have to gamble with what type of bat I will receive. I think I will have to return this new bat and move up to one where I can at least know what the materials and weight range I can count on.

Awesome slugger baseball bat. Made in USA!
Excellent just as described!

Very thin handle
My son who is 10 was using this for building strength when swinging his metal bat. Granted a 10 year old does not have the speed or power of a pro and this bat still split through the grip area.

Heavy
Heavy for a youth bat. Specs online say this bat should be roughly -6 weight but the 30” bat I got weighs almost 28 oz.
