I formatted the device and installed ubuntu server for the house. It is quiet and is unexpectedly powerful for its size. This is a great product for anyone who wants to set up a home computer lab without breaking the budget. I would also like to note that upgrading the device storage is as easy as removing the bottom plate and installing an appropriate M.2 ssd.

It worked great ran all night playing videos and music, loaded years of photos and videos from other devices then I got online with a friend's wifi and did the windows updates and the last restart to complete the updates resulted in no video signal to the monitor. The story continues... I brought it back home and plugged it in and it booted up and repaired itself (SSD) and has been running just fine. I did get a quick reply from GMKtec support on creating a boot memory card which requires a 7GB download, not happening on my cell phone but I will do that on one of the 3 x 32gb memory cards arriving today. Also got a prompt answer on the video Rez so I will be trying a small 1920x1280 display arriving tomorrow as a primary or secondary display for CAD use. Glad I didn't have to return it, great price and value and plenty of other configurations are available!

Pro:Good video and sound.Reasonably fast, but not quite as fast as the i5 computer it replaced.Great price.I had it up and running in just a few minutes.Cons:None come to mind right now.I'm glad I bought it.

I purchased the GMKtec 12GB / 1TB SSD model to have a secondary computer to play with. It comes with Windows 11 Pro and, out of the box, set up was very simple. The unit has a good build quality, (hardened plastic), and includes a black and red top plate for customization, should you want it. Removing this plate gives you access to the miniSSD inside.Performance wise, this is a nice little unit to have around for web surfing, watching YT, handling emails etc. The GMKtec handles these activities with aplomb. I like the LED lighting that lights the unit up. You can change the LED color from within the BIOS.Windows 11 Pro is OK, but the ads and extra telemetry leave me shaking my head. C’mon Microsoft. Nobody likes this.Turning those “features” off improved the performance and overall experience of using the GMKtec even more. (Less usage of RAM and swap.)The fan kicks on from time to time, and it is noticeable, but not annoyingly so. At some point, I will get another miniSSD and throw Linux on it. For what it’s worth, this unit works great with Synergy, which lets me share my keyboard and mouse between my two computers.For under $200US, this miniPC is a pretty good deal. (Review written after a month’s usage.)

Small and light, but not a powerhouse. Be aware that this computer does not have a lot of storage for larger applications. I use it as a streaming and Network terminal on a TV. It works very well for that. Even the newer TV's don't seem to have Apps for all of my paid streaming subscriptions. This solves that problem. It would also bee a boon for older TV's with an HDMI input. Thursday Night Football through Amazon Prime came through perfectly, and the price is right for a functional Windows 11 computer. Also a good buy for cord cutters wanting to stream free TV from the internet. One time purchase, and no monthly fee (except for the internet which you pay for anyway.)
