I have purchased two of these magnetic mounts, and I have been extremely pleased with their performance. I've used mine for about 7 months and recently bought the same model for my grandparents to use on their long distance drives. In my 2012 Ford Escape, my vents are horizontal, but in my grandparent's 2019 GMC Terrain, the vents are vertical. This mount works equally well in both styles. Pros: -Incredibly easy to use! Get in car, snap phone on holder. Done! -Rotates so you can get the right viewing angle for multiple users (my husband & I both us it with no issues) - and it stays where I position it (not weighed down by phone) -Perfect viewing level for me - don't have to look far to see screen & therefore be distracted from the road (I'm 5'2", for reference) -Extremely secure - my phone has never slipped, fell off, or moved at all once it's on the mount (as long as you keep it tightened) -Magnet is hidden inside phone case, so it's completely invisible (see photo) -No suction cup marks on the windshield! -Comes with multiple magnets so you can use more than one device -Solves the issue of the textured dashboard - I can't use dashboard mounts due to the glue not sticking to the texture ; and again, does not need to be mounted to windshield with suction cups which can be very finicky Cons: -Since it connects to an air vent, depending on your vehicle, you may be limited on placement -Again, since it connects to an air vent, it does block some of the airflow (a slight bummer when you try to blast AC mid-summer); also, it restricts the up/down movement of the vent a bit in my vehicle (2012 Ford Escape) -The adjustable clamp for inside the air vents has to be periodically tightened to maintain "stiffness" (i.e. phone doesn't weigh mount down - when it gets loose sometimes the whole mounts will come off with my phone, but it's easily fixed by tightening) -The magnet is quite strong, so you can't just rip the phone off the mount or the whole thing might come off the vent - I've found it helps to "roll" it off to the side and it pops right off without moving the mount clips on the vent Overall, highly recommended. This mount has been very reliable and I use it at least weekly. It is small and compact and could be used on travel, in rental cars, etc. Just don't forget it in your rental car!

After long searching, I finally decided to purchase this WizGear product. It seemed to have the best reviews with no one really complaining about the product breaking or scratching up the vents. It's an easy product to figure out. One knob twists to open the piece that goes into the vent (I found it best to have as far back as it goes and running along the vent). The other knob keeps the 360-rotating mount in place. Due to the placement of my vents, I found it best to place the Car Mount on the passenger side and rotate it to face me. I am able to see my phone when needed, have enough air flow through my vent, and the car mount doesnt just fall off. And like every other comment says, the magnet is super strong with nothing to worry about (unless your phone is that heavy. I have an LG G8, but a Samsung Galaxy S8 is pictured. Both work great). Two things I wanted to include: 1. This product does stick out. I was unable to find reviews on this, so I decided to include an image for anyone else wondering how far it sticks out. 2. Like other magnets, this magnet WILL drain your battery. I figured so, but I had a hard time finding any reviews or questions concerning this issue. My battery was on 86% and within a few minutes of the magnet in my case, I was down 3%. It's not a big issue as long as your have a charger in your car, but figured I would share my findings.

In my opinion the top two types of cellphone mounts are the suction cup ones and the magnet ones. Everything else doesn't work well or is obsolete (cd cellphone mount). I like the magnet ones a little better than the suction cup ones because I like the windshield to be clear and mounting it on a leather dashboard ruins the leather especially since it's pretty thin/fake leather. I also like the fact that with the magnet you can just place the phone onto the mount without much effort and you can do it with one hand. Compared to the competition, this one has 6 magnets vs the common 4 magnet set up... i figured the more magnets the better. The fact that you can tighten the grip to the ac vent is also important because the phone mounts that don't fall off really easily... i know because i bought one. There are a few reasons why I couldn't give the product 5 stars. First, the knobs loosen over time and you have to retighten and readjust the car mount. This is not a deal breaker but it is kind of annoying that I have to retighten the mount every few days. I like to install something and never have to worry about it again. Secondly, the magnet placement on the phone itself is kinda of ugly so most people put the magnet in between the phone and the phone case. This is fine but it kind of requires you to buy a phone case and the phone case needs to be opaque or else you are going to see the ugly magnet on the back of your phone. Overall, I would recommend the mount. It has a pretty small footprint on the car and it does what it is suppose to do. It's easy to use and my phone stays pretty secure on the mount when I am driving.

Got this item yesterday. Grabbed it from the mailbox while at the house for lunch, and had it figured out and ready to go in less than 5 minutes. I have a Commuter case from Otterbox, so I just popped the exoskeleton off the case, aligned the metal piece (which is sufficiently thick enough to create a strong attraction to the magnets inside the swiveling head), then put the exoskeleton back on, so that it sits between the plastic of the exoskeleton and the rubber of the case surrounding the phone. I attached the phone and then tried to shake it loose. It didn't detach until I was really giving it hell. If your phone detaches because of road vibrations, then you must have some seriously messed up roads. I've seen a few reviews that claim the unit won't stay attached to their vent, and that it pulls loose. That hasn't been my experience so far. The grip is strong, and the thumb lever/screw provides sufficient torque to hold. Perhaps the problem lies in how they're removing their phone? Despite how strongly it holds, it removes very easily just by levering uip one side, which breaks the pull of the magnets. By doing that, the base never budges for me. Do note, however, that his mount won't work on circular vents. It needs to be a louvered vent. My side vents are circular, and I guess they're looser or something because the weight of the phone just pulled it down. I've just started doing some part-time driving with Uber and had been looking for something that would work for that situation. I was looking at ProClips, which uses the seams on your dashboard to mount their product. Probably the best option if money isn't an issue, but the total cost of the base plus the specific phone mount is close to $70. Not an amount I want to spend to simply have a dependable phone mount. Plus each base and mount is designed for a specific car and phone. Change phones or cars and you have to change either your base or your mount. And you know you're going to be changing phones every couple of years. I first tried one of the cigarette lighter mounts because that seemed like it would be the best of both worlds. Able to charge and mount within the same unit. Unfortunately, the model I purchased was pretty unstable and would vibrate its way out and disconnect from the power. And the gooseneck was too short and stiff to really get it where you wanted it. Plus, I was having to look down at my phone to see the screen. This mount brings the phone up on the dashboard so that it's a simple shift of the eyes to see it. And, as I've already said, not a hint of vibration or movement. I'll update if things change, but for now, it looks like a winner to me!

This is a great car mount. It was easy enough to install hasn't failed me yet (kind of). The magnetic part has so much more surface area than a mount I had before so its hold is good. It has an adjustable swivel ball to tilt the mount to your preferred angle and an adjustable little beak that fits various vent slat sizes. There are two tightening mechanisms at the back of the mount. One to tighten the beak and one to fix the swivel ball into place. The mechanisms get a little tricky to adjust because they get closer as they are tightened. My whole mount and phone have fallen off the vent because of that, but it was just on error on my part. Still love it and even bought my sister one. (she also loves it) There are also a couple different magnet shapes and sizes to fit your phone or case. I chose the big rectangular one and sandwiched it between the soft bit and hard shell of my case. It's a little snug but have no problems so far with that. For reference, I have a Samsung s9 and a spigen slim case.

This device works as advertised and I like the magnetic attachment more then other types that use a clamp to hold the mobile phone. The adjustable part , intended to be fitted into the vent strip, didn't hold my Android S22 consistently. Had to to tighten often so that the holder wouldn't dislodge from the vent.

This is the second one I’ve bought, the first one lasted me at least 5 years? It finally got loose where it attaches to the vent. I got another one and it works great. The magnet is really strong, and the mount doesn’t shake like those bigger car phone mounts. Highly recommend

It attaches securely to the air vent and the phone attaches and stays. Turns and adjusts easily. GREAT PRODUCT. We bought 3 more, to have two in each car.

This is second time I buy WizGear magnetic mount. Bought it first for myself couple of months ago and bought another one now as a gift. I tried other models and found that their magnetic force is not strong enough to hold the smartphones of today. WizGear on other hand does the job perfectly. With Montreal roads (bumps and potholes) the phone never detaches from the mount. Excellent mount, highly recommended.

First it came the next day and I’m so happy with it that I ordered another five for my friends who think it’s very very good and so strong for the money that you paid for it
