Not very chocolatey chocolate mix
The powder does not dissolve easily and it's not the greatest chocolate flavor.

If you don't like the taste of cacao powder, don't get this.
Personally, I really like this. Raaka's chocolate bars is an occasional purchase that has never let me down. And once I saw that this was mostly made of cacao powder instead of the classic cocoa, I knew how it'd taste: very earthy, and a whole ton of bitterness. Cacao in my opinion is a very acquired taste, and you may need to be very willing to doctor it so it could be palatable for your tastes, and that could mean a whole lot that's needed. This will be a hundred times more bitter than cocoa, so of course it will be difficult to cut back on that with sugar. However they did a great job making this taste great while allowing some of the earthiness to slip through, and paired with a frothed vegan milk this is a tasty winner. You can taste a bit of coconut too, thanks to the added coconut milk powder to enhance the creaminess, and cacao butter does nicely in further improving the texture of the end product. Also, the more you use the more "cacao bitterness" comes out, so honestly two tablespoons instead of three is more than good. For fellow health foodies, cacao has a lot more nutrition to it than it's cocoa counterpart, so this can still satisfy if you play around with it a bit. Ways I made it downright delicious is frothing up regular half and half, mixed with warmed almond milk, and a splash of French vanilla coffee syrup. So I'd definitely recommend this, but I seriously implore that this will definitely not be for everyone.

Weird
This affected my intestinal system. Constipated and feces had a weird consistency.

a neutral tasting dark chocolate, slight bitterness
while this can be had with just water, i definitely recommend using milk if possible, since it seems to be missing a creamer or dry milk (or substitute) (it does have coconut milk powder, but coconut milk is more on the watery side anyway) it's a bit flat texture wise when had with water. milk on the otherhand, gives it that body and creaminess that it lacks otherwise. it also helps a bit with the neutral bitter taste. i dont mind it all that much, since i drink it while eating some chocolate sweets, so the pairing helps balance it out. you can easily add more sugar though, which i tried and it definitely helps cut through the bitterness of course, but still retains a bit of that bitter character that makes this flavoring be unique. if youre a fan the usual sweet milk chocolate hot chocolates, be sure to keep this in mind, since the taste will be very different, but once you find how to enjoy it, youll appreciate the more in depth flavor profile. edit: wanted to do a follow up after some trial and error with powder to milk amounts. for those with scales/weights, i've found that 8 oz of milk with anywhere from 28-32 grams of chocolate powder gives a great cup of hot chocolate. 28g gives a solid cup, but if you go to 32 it gives a richer and bolder, slightly creamier taste. both require no extra sugar (in my opinion), but you can easily add just a tbsp extra for that extra sweetness, if you arent used to the less sweet dark chocolate. ive, really been enjoying this hot chocolate so much, and it's gotten me to look into more dark hot chocolates. still very much recommend this.

Just what I was hoping for! Super Rich, Dark Chocolate goodness!
This hot chocolate is made with dark chocolate. Which I’m a huge fan of. I actually prefer super rich, dark chocolate over milk chocolate. The darker the better! I was so happy to find that this is dairy free as well. I’m lactose intolerant, so this is especially important. The mix is dark, and chunky. It even looked like there might be slices of chocolate in it. I initially just used Hot Water for my first cup. I used 2 tablespoons. It was ok, but I could tell it was watered down a bit. I added the 3rd recommended tablespoon and it was perfect! Super rich and flavorful. It definitely had a bite to it which I love! I also added a splash of almond milk to it, and this really made it nice and creamy. I haven’t had a whole cup of this with just almond milk, but if the bitterness of the chocolate is too strong for you, then you might like it better this way. I’ve included a few pictures, so you can see this up close. Hope you found my comments and photos helpful.
