Works perfect for cloning a M.2 laptop drive.
My newest Windows laptop came with a 512TB M.2 SSD. I was easily able to clone the internal drive to a new 2TB drive with this M.2 toaster adapter in order to add more storage capacity. It worked perfectly.

Like but questionable
I have used this for several weeks and have enjoyed it speed and keeping the drive cool. what i ama very concerned with is the closure mechanism. It will not stay locked well enough that it opens up every time that I remove the USB-C cable from the Drive to travel. The internal tray pulls open the enclosure as if to change out the NVME drive. That it not what I am Looking for; so this device will stay local and I will move on. But for backups and data storage, it gives a great speed, depending on the Type of drive that is installed. That was never its problem, keeping closed is.

Device saver
So my old computer was damaged by some Dr bronners soap that spilled all over it. I know it’s a long story but at the end I thought all my data was gone forever. Into I brought a fix it kit to salvage any parts or things I know I could still use but everything was damaged but my SSD Nvme so I was so happy because the laptop I had covered the ssd nvme with a metal square case. So when I finally brought this product to try and access the data from the ssd. This has nothing to do with the product but I plugged my ssd nvme. The product works and lights up perfectly but then I realized my ssd was locked by a bit locker code I can’t remember luckily I went on Microsoft account and found the code. Now I can use this device for more storage in the future on my new PC and obtain all the data on my old ssd!

Works perfectly!
Super easy to navigate and worked exactly how I needed it to ! It looks clean and is very straightforward. If you have an SSD you need to access this is a very good option

Flashing LED light ring is really annoying
So far, it works fine for me on Windows 10 22H2. I needed to read files from an M.2 SATA SSD with B+M keys that I pulled from a dead PC, and it let me do that with no issues. However, the LED ring is annoying, especially in a work environment. I have a full RGB setup at home, and I still don't like the LED function of this dock. When the dock is plugged in, even with no stick in it, the lights are multi-colored and flashing. When you insert an M.2 stick, they flash even more rapidly — seemingly whether or not you're transferring data. Then after a bit with a stick still plugged in, it'll randomly cycle through slow dimming and fading single-color patterns and then back to multi-color. If you start transferring data from it, that does seem to make them rapidly flash in multiple colors again. But since it flashes in multiple colors even when nothing is plugged in, it's a pretty poor indication of what's happening IMO. Ideally, the lights should be in the slow single-color dimming/fading cycle when the dock is plugged in, but NOTHING is inserted in it, or the lights should be completely OFF. Then it should be multi-colored when there is an M.2 stick plugged into it, and it should flash ONLY when data is being transferred. That would at least make the LEDs useful as an indicator. But it should really have a tiny toggle switch on it that allows you to turn off the LEDs completely. But as it is now, it's constant distraction in the corner of my vision unless I unplug it. So, as soon as the Amazon return window is closed, I'm planning on painting the LED ring black.

Failure to Operate
Really disappointed with this one. Plugged in my m.2 drive and my PC wouldn't recognize anything. Switched USB cables and tried again, still nothing. Restarted and still nothing. Tried another drive and still didn't show up. Ended up returning. The lights were cool looking though.

This is good! Works right out of the box.
I used this to clone my original hard drive. Plug it in, run the cloning program, and everything works, first time.
