Deceptively small pellets
SWELLS QUICKLY! When first using this product, use it sparingly as it swells within seconds of touching the water. This is dangerous if you're feeding one fish, like a betta. Regardless, overfeeding a fish can cause death. I love that you can crunch it up into smaller pieces just with your fingers. This is going to be helpful while raising fry. I love that some of it floats and some of it sinks. That assures me that the bottom dwellers will get their share. The fish love it, and I think it's a very economical purchase. GREAT JOB!

Great Fish Food Brand
Hikari is a well trusted fish food brand and this product does not disappoint. I have ember tetras, kuhli Loaches and a female betta in my tank and all of them love these mini pellets. I feed with these by taking a little pinch and slowly rubbing my fingers back and forth in the water to release them. These will float temporarily for a couple of seconds if you drop them on the water and then slowly sink. I like that they don't sink too fast.

I was skeptical at first but this food has totally transformed the fish in my tank!
I noticed a huge difference in my fishes coloring in the 2nd week of using Hikari's micropellets. The copper color of my 5 Harlequin Rasbora's are not only deeper but their entire body now shimmers. The 75 Cardinal Tetra's blue and red coloring are just unbelievably brilliant while their silver is just incredible. The 10 Black Neon Tetra's don't look the like the same fish anymore since their green line is really neon against their strong black bodies. My 24 Rummy Nose Tetra's are so unbelievably brilliant their pearlized shimmering silver and glowing red nose just steals the show from the 5 Manila Angel show fish when they school across the front of my tank showing off their bluish tint while they travel the 8 feet to the other side of the tank. The 3 Red Phantom Tetra's are no longer washed out - instead, their bodies are now outlined in a dark orange red like in those magazines. What's really amazing is that this 1.58 oz of fish food has been the diet for all of these fish in my tank for the last 102 days and there is about 1/3 of a bag left. I feed my fish twice per day, two pinches in at 7:00 AM and 2 pinches at 6:00 PM.

Fish magnet!
Amazing! it is not true that these pellets float.. I grab a pinch between my fingers, put it under the water surface and release and they all slowly sink, my neon tetras go crazy, my betta chases them around to get to the food first, and while all of them chase each other trying to eat, my 2 horned nerite snails get to the food before anyone else, lol the irony. The food smells like seafood and everyone in the tank loves it! so glad I bought it. I have had no problems with leftovers (and I don't underfeed my fish like most people do). I feed two to three times a day, a different meal each time, they get repashy soilent green, hikari pellets and frozen premium bloodworms. I have FOUR super healthy, well balanced tanks with happy, colorful, big and healthy fish that have never gotten sick, they key is feeding them well, and then cleaning accordingly. Water quality, enough space, and excellent nutrition is what it takes to have a beautiful, healthy and thriving community tank.

Nice fish food.
It is very nice fish food. It does tend to sink to the bottom after floating for a little bit but my fish eat on top of water and on the bottom of the tank so works great for me. The fish like it very much.

Great for small fish, but pricey by the packet (check out the bulk bag)
I knew when I first bought this at my local fish supply store that it was great for the small fish, especially my many guppy, molly fry and young'uns, because it's very small granules and they gobble it. Only drawback is the price of the small packets...$7.01 for 1.58 oz., even more locally. Since I used quite a bit of it, as well as the Hikari Marine S and Algae Wafers, I figured there's got to be a cheaper bulk size. Sure enough, there's a 2.2 lb bag ( http://www.amazon.com/Hikari-Usa-AHK21166-tropical-Micrpellets/dp/B0002HBKPA ) for $66.20, or 1.88 cents per oz, vs the 1.58 oz packet for $7.01, or 4.43 cents per oz., which amounts to a 240% markup over the the bulk bag. I realize that 2.2 lbs of micro pellets is a lot, as is $66.20, but if you use the stuff on a regular basis, it's obviously well worth springing for the bulk bag, which can be re-sealed to maintain freshness. I use an old spice jar with holes in the top to dispense it, refilling as necessary from the bulk bag. The Hikari Marine S, which is a somewhat larger version of the micro pellets, yet still a relatively small pellet, is also available in bulk from an Amazon partner ( [...] ) for $58.00 for the 2.2 lb bag. My larger mollies and guppies, as well as my gourami and glow fish, gobble the Marine S, so I buy that in bulk as well. Hikari fish food in general seems to be well liked by most fish, but it's ridiculously expensive locally, and not much better on Amazon for the small packets. So if you use Hikari pellets on a regular basis, I suggest buying it in bulk when available for a more reasonable price.

Good for small Betta
My betta fish is a bit small, so large pellets typically donโt fit in her mouth. I also worry about them expanding in her stomach. She really likes these though, and aggressively chows them down. If you are feeding a betta, please make sure not to feed them any more food than the size of their eye and no more than two times a day!

Tetras and pygmy corys seem to like these
I'm sure I'll be buying more. My nano fish like them, they're easy to dose out and consistent size. They float for a bit, then they sink. There's no dust.

Good price for quality fish food and a decent sized pack.

My fish love these. It's like piranhas in the water when I feed. Noticed the colors on my guppies improve drastically after switching to this food. They hang in the water column nicely for a while to allow my fish to get them before they hit the bottom. If you have a large community tank, they are great because they are smaller, and you can feed a lot of them which gives all the fish a chance to get to them vs larger pellets which usually got eaten up fast by the larger aggressive fish and didn't allow the smaller ones a chance to eat

I have been using this for the past year and found the quality to be excellent. The fish enjoy the food and finish it within 3โ4 minutes. The aquarium water stays clear, with no clouding observed. Overall, itโs a great choice.
