Mini Morse Radio Key CW HAM Send Telegram Single Paddle Morse Code Key with Aluminum Alloy Body Base Black(S)

I havent used CW since 1980, and with 30 meters calling my name, I decided to try to get back up to speed with CW. Then I looked at the prices of keys and keyers and said NOPE. Then I was turned on to this great little key, for a price they all should be. It is adjustable, sturdy, does not slide across the table, and is very easy to use. Highly recommend for both novices, and full time CW ops as well. It just works great, feels great, and the price cant be beat.

The build quality of this morse key is really good. I was a little concerned when I ordered it that it would be partially or mostly plastic, but it appears to be entirely made of solid anodized aluminum. It feels very sturdy. It clicks nicely, it feels like a precision mechanism. I haven't attempted to, but it looks like you could totally disassemble it with a set of hex wrenches if you needed to clean it or something. It has two adjustment thumbscrews: one for spring tension, and one for setting the distance of travel... that one for how springy it is and one for how far you have to push it down to make it contact. It's very intuitive, you can see how it works by looking at it. Each adjustment screw has a little knurled nut that you can set to lock the adjustment in place. It came with a little clear plastic box and a surprisingly nice, cloth-wrapped 1/8th inch audio cable for connecting it. All in all, this thing is pretty cool just for what it is, and I'm kinda surprised it doesn't cost a lot more. I'm very happy with it.

It's such a cute little key, I just had to have one. I'd seen YouTube videos on Putikeeg keys so I didn't have to worry. I'm very happy with the build quality, and the finish. Now I want to get the green one.

Excellent little keyer. Spring and contact distance are adjustable. Very smooth operation. I like that this keyer is small, compact and easy to carry with me. It is my favorite keyer to use..

I'll caveat this with - it's good, for something to learn on, so don't expect Begali performance from this. If you are already experienced with CW, then you've already moved beyond this keyer. It is a mini and has good heft for its size. Overall, it's well constructed with a smooth finish and no discernible tool marks. The resistance and distance adjustments use thumb screws, which can require a bit of a delicate touch to adjust. The knob is smooth and it has a thumb rest. If a rounded knob is not for you, it can be unscrewed and replaced. I would like to see a little better quality spring used, but as-is, it's serviceable. I wouldn't recommend this as your daily driver in your shack, as it is small and you would want to mount it to something to help keep it in place. A full sized straight key with some heft is what you want for frequent use. This is a beginner straight key and for learning CW you can pair it up with the Putikeeg mini CW Trainer or with a dongle to your pc and connect to the vband website for practicing CW. If you are wanting to try CW and aren't sure, then this keyer is a good way to try it out w/o breaking the bank.

I've been wanting to have a straight key around just to have that option to see if I like it. I've always used the double paddles before with a keyer but wanted to be able to use either method well. I bought the blue one, it's very well built, and stays in place without the need of securing it to a larger base. I showed it to our club members at our Saturday morning breakfast meet-up, and they really liked it. I adjusted the gap to be pretty small to reduce the motion as much as possible. I jumped right into answering a POTA station on the air, and found I had to slow down just a bit to get in the groove of things. All in all, great little key for the price, solid aluminum, great little key. 73!

I am new to Morse code. So my fist is heavy. I'm trying to get lighter. I may soften the spring a bit. It is a quality build. It looks as if it can handle rough treatment in the field. I'm looking for a protective case, just to be careful. Seems like a protective case would be a good 3-D print project for someone.

love it works well, adjustable and heavy enough with nice feet so it does not slide. Would buy again! The name Putikeeg is geek it up backwards for anyone interested lol

This is a great little hand key. It's well constructed and stays put on a flat surface. Easy to adjust. Excellent key for SOTA or POTA activations or just on the bench in the shack. All metal. I highly recommend.

Small and weighted, great little key

Bardzo fajny klucz. Mały ale jest na tyle ciężki że się nie przesuwa. Dobrze się na nim nadaje CW.
