After listening to "at the Black Hole" and "White Room", music wise I thought Kazuya Yoshii was rather confused, and his music seems less "energetic". In fact, that was what he was experiencing then. 39108, however, is a more powerful album. The music is relatively more aggressive, and at once we think that he may be returning back to The Yellow Monkey days of charismatic music. But at closer listen, the composition is more thoughtful. He cannot do what he once did with the same view anymore, and it is a great thing that even at age 40 he still have room for improving himself. For example, Koi no Hana may seem like a normal love song for anyone else, but such music composition and odd time signiture is different from his Yellow Monkey era.For some good quality music, I think this is definitely better than some of the other bands/artists that's relatively more popular overseas. Unfortunately, Kazuya Yoshii and TYM has always been rather underated despite their musicianship are quite high. As for his solo work, 39108 will be my landmark of his archeivement, and certainly a recommended.

Kazuya Yoshii is now 40. He himself defines this album as the completion of his 30's. He is known for his versatility and always changing style. This album is a show case of his styles; glam-rock, melancholic Japanese pop, heavy-rock, party-tuen rock,etc. The album as all recorded in LA. You can find familiar names such as Julian Coryell on guitar , Josh Freeze on drum. As for sound you may find a happy marriage of dry US air in instrument and humid Japanese mood in vocal. Contrary to the lucidity of sound lyrics are symbolic enough to portrait a selfimage of a man going to be 40. Look at these expressions; peeling off anti-electricshock vinyl/ I want to get on the Ferris Wheal painted by Chagall/ to make my brain gel. A liitle knowlege of Japanese may add a differnt flavour to your impression on this album.

シングル、BEAUTIFUL、ライブ栄えのいいWEEKENDERなどを含み、ソロでは最高と押す人が多い、2006年、サードソロアルバム(LP)以前、プレイヤーもないのに買ってしまった一枚なんですが。10年も前の作品のレビューですが、あまりはた迷惑なのはダメですがただあるがまま、と歌うALL BY LOVEを、改めていいと思ったので。おもちゃのようなプレイヤーで聴いているので、音の違いは言えませんが、吉井さんがアコギを弾く、恋の花とか、柔らかくいい感じかな。好きなのは流れるようなLIVING TIMEや暗いですがポジネガマン、HOLD ME TIGHTなどは聞きやすく凝っていていいですよ、 BELIEVEも。アルバム8が好きだった方は馴染みやすいかもしれませんが、太陽が燃えているなどが好きな方は、入りにくいかも。そういう方はライブ盤が嫌でなければ、Dragon head Miracleなどもいいので、興味がある方はベスト盤の18とか、いろいろ聞いてみてください。イエモンのようなきらびやかさはないかもしれませんが。吉井さんの個性がよく出た、暗くても前向きで、シンプルな曲はスキルの差が出ますが、質の高い、いい曲が聞けますよ。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　添付以前、CDの方の感想を書いたのですが、LPの方にも転載されていて。12年の日付になっていますが、LPの感想は2016年6月29日のものです。これを書くのに削除したので、CDの方も合わせて転載しておきます。(２０１２・１・２７)最高傑作と押す人が多いだけに、さすがの１枚。どの曲も今さら言うまでもなくいい曲ぞろいです。人それぞれのマイウェイの、給油口に入れる時の、なんて歌詞。JAMの外国で飛行機が落ちましたを代表に、吉井さんの歌は曲のかっこよさ以外に、感情にグッとくる言葉が無造作に散りばめられていて、いいですねえ。ヘビーチューンで聴くと、重いパンチを浴びすぎたように効きすぎて疲れを感じることもありますが、それでもまた聴きたくなる。そんな良さが吉井ロックで、このアルバムだと思います。

とっくの前にこの作品のCDは聴いていました。しかし「starlight」のアナログ盤の絶妙すぎるタイム感に、音にもうこれからはパッケージとしてはレコードしか買わないと決め、4800円で売られていたし買いました。CDではジャリジャリと聴こえたアコギのたおやかなこと。そして1枚組であるということ。なんか2枚組ってテンションさがるのです。これから出るカップリング集のアナログ盤が定価の時点で7千円超えているのも吉井さんがこだわったからでしょう。期待しています。

う〜んsingleの『Beautiful』は凄い良い曲やなぁと思ってalbumも期待してたんだけども。一曲目から吉井さん独特の『Rockstar』オーラが感じられなかった。これならばまだ1st、2ndのがマシじゃないかと思ったでも聴く回数を重ねてく内にこのalbum良さも分かって来たこのalbumに居るのは『Rockstar』の吉井和哉ではなく『素』の吉井和哉なのだなと思った。

作りが丁寧ですね。CDとDVDのデザインは、吉井さんが手書きしたのかな？とにかく、内容は良かったです。

中古でとても安価だったのに、冊子の装丁も中の写真もとても綺麗で、CD、DVDは新品の様でした。新品だったら手が出なかったと思うので、とても有り難いです！
