Q: how long does it take to roast a bulb of garlic?

One recipe we follow is to cut the top off the bulb and remove the loose outer layers of skin. Add the bulb to the pot with the cut side facing up, and drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Sometimes we add rosemary and/or thyme for added flavor. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F, and cook for about 45 minutes with lid on. We like to see a light brown color and a soft texture to let us know when it's finished, but everybody has their own preference, so feel free to experiment and find what you like best. Don't forget the oven mits! :)
