Crone's Book of Charms & Spells

Beautiful! This is a must for any collection of occult knowledgeable, on the craft. There is no new-agey stuff in here! Published in the late '80's, this kind of precision and clarity are difficult to find. As a result, my old copy is covered with notes, bookmarks, etc. I needed to find a presentable copy for my library. I could not be more thrilled with the condition! Buying used books can be a gamble. But, this copy is in such great shape it appears almost new. The ratings & reviews for this seller are 100% accurate. Thank you!

Some books are just classics, and this is one that I will always make sure to have in my library. From inspired glyphs, charming spells, and seasonal rites which, alone, are worth the cost of the book, I cannot recommend it enough. Every single page drips with both poetic beauty and ritual symbolism. Perhaps not for those entirely unfamiliar with witchcraft, but then again most of the workings are well explained.

Valerie Worth, I'm afraid, has not done it again. I bought this book thinking it might be a posthumous compilation of unpublished writings. Instead, I found a new -- and beautifully illustrated -- edition of a book I already had, _The Crone's Book of Wisdom_.It's a completely new design, with suggested pictures for the talismans in the chapter "Inscriptions of Power." The incantations in "Thrice a Dozen Charms" and "Ceremonies for the Year" have been reset in italics, rather than the all-caps format of the previous edition, which makes them much easier to read.A useful and inspiring book for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. However, if you're thinking of purchasing it, and already have _Crone's Book of Wisdom_, you should be aware that you're buying *no* new textual material.

It was a helpful read for good luck charms.

It's all charms and talismans with some of them that are fake (eternal youth, immortality...). You can use some of them and it's a good product for the price.

Utter rubbish. went stray to the garbage, where it belongs. This book is a gathering of supersition and stupid spells such as a spell for immortality... not at all what I was expected from a so called "crone". if you are seeking wisdom, run away

Ummmmn I love the content of the book but the book itself I mean the quality is not that good.

It's lovely to read, almost poetic. This book has not been a dissapointment.

This is a charmingly written book about the old ways. It is not a Wiccan book, and so many of the fluffy bunnies will tell you it is not witchcraft. They are wrong. This book is elegant in its simplicity. Talismens should be simple it is the way symbolism works. The brews are easy to find and create (maybe not for city dwellers). If you don't want to take revenge or kill beetles then don't do it. The Ceremonies for the year read like poetry, and the whole book is worth buying simply to read, even if you are not inclined to magick.

What a great book. Will provide much inspiration and a useful resource. Would make a wonderful gift or addition to a personal library.
