Soap - old school!
Really liking this stuff. I'm fed up with soaps that almost knock you out with their scent, and I really hate using bar soaps in anything but a shower because it takes so long to wash them away. And let's be honest, most sink-side soap dishes end up being gross in no time at all. This soap is excellent - washes off in double-quick time. It does the job and leaves my face feeling like it's really been cleaned. I suffer from a little bit of eczema around the eyes, and this has improved considerably since I started using this soap. Might be purely coincidental but I'll take all the breaks I can get. The scent? Well, there isn't one really...it's more like the sort of scent you used to get from those plain white bars of soap in the school lavs back in the day. Y'know, just sort of 'soapy'. Probably a 'Marmite' thing - but based on the results I don't think I'll ever be using anything else now.

The organic ingredients
Very good. You only need a small amount to wash your hands. Very versatile. Excellent as a pesticide for scale insects on kaffir lime trees and indian curry plants. Value for money.

A Good Customisable Base for Hand and Body Soaps
Overview: The Ultimate Natural DIY Soap Base? If you are looking for a versatile, eco-friendly, and cost-effective solution for your household, this Lucemill Organic Castile Soap review explores why this concentrated liquid is a staple for natural skincare enthusiasts. From its clean ingredients to its performance as a customisable base, discover how to best use this vegan soap for your skin and hair needs. Iโve been using Lucemill Organic Castile Soap for several weeks and truly appreciate the peace of mind that comes with such a clean, straightforward formulation. In a world full of complicated products, there is something deeply comforting about returning to a natural skincare routine that prioritises wellness and simple living. The main ingredients are organic coconut oil and sunflower oils, which keep chemical additives to a minimumโa significant plus for those seeking vegan soap alternatives or safe skincare for the whole family. It also limits skin-sensitising ingredients for people with allergies, making it feel like a protective choice for your home. As a concentrated liquid soap base for a DIY hand wash or a natural body wash, it performs very well. It produces a rich, satisfying lather that leaves skin feeling clean and refreshed. While the moisturising properties are good, it is important to remember that pure castile soap has a high pH. For those with sensitive skin, it can cause irritation; in my case, I noticed my psoriasis patches flared slightly. I recommend following up with a fragrance-free moisturiser to maintain that soft, nourished feeling. One area where this can be temperamental is as a natural shampoo base. It is particularly not advisable for low porosity hair, as unsaponified and unemulsified oils will simply sit on the surface of the hair shaft, making it look greasy and weighed down. However, users with high porosity hair may find they get on much better with this formula, as their hair can better absorb the natural oils. For many, though, research suggests that liquid castile soap can interact with minerals in tap water, creating soap scum buildup, especially in hard water areas. Ultimately, while it might work as a shampoo for porous hair, I view it primarily as a cost-effective, multipurpose soap and a beautiful customisable base for hand soap refills and mindful body care. For more details on its certifications, you can view the product on the Lucemill Amazon Store. Pros & Cons Pros: Eco-friendly & Vegan: Clean, organic ingredients with no synthetic additives. Versatile Base: Excellent for creating custom DIY liquid hand soaps and body washes. Value for Money: A highly concentrated formula that is very cost-effective. Porosity Friendly: May work well as a natural cleanser for high porosity hair types. Cons: High pH Level: Can be drying or cause flares for those with psoriasis or sensitive skin. Residue Risk: Leaves a greasy residue on low porosity hair and interacts poorly with minerals in water. Requires Dilution: Must be carefully diluted to avoid irritation.

A good natural alternative to detergents, soaps, body washes
I use it for everything. I prefer it over products with artificial scents, chemical additives etc. It works and itโs not toxic.

Gentle on skin, lathers easily
I recently decided to try this out, due to my hands getting sore and dry. It definitely has made an immediate difference, with all of the soreness clearing up in a few days. Although it is more expensive per litre than most other soaps, I have also found that I use far less, because it lathers much more effectively than other liquid soaps. It face it is so effective, that I suspect this will actually be cheaper for me in the long run. I have also started using in as a replacement for shampoo and shower gel, and it also works very well in those situations.
