I was a little nervous about other reviews for this product which stated that the remote didn't work and that the only way to control the motor was with the remote. The product I received did have an on/off switch on the motor housing. At first I thought the remote wasn't working but then thought I would try flipping the battery over. When I did, then the remote started working perfectly. I have to say, that the direction you face the battery seems to be the opposite of other remotes I tend to use. Although now that I look closer, there is a + indicator on the flip side of the battery holder. Should have looked closer for it the first time I guess. Anyway I've included a picture which I hope helps to demonstrate the correct direction for installing the battery. Note that I also used a CR 2032 battery which should last longer than the CR 2025 battery called for on the box for the motor.

I need help with one unit not working correctly. Seems like the unit dies in 2-3 days. The 2nd unit is fine!! Can I send the one back or get a replacement? I use these in my bow window! Please advise before Christmas.. Need for my display!!Bob Davis

I am revising my review and rating. I bought this to hang outside to use for my wind spinner. As stated in the original review, the remote would only work if you held it a few feet from spinner. I usually forgot to go out at night and turn it off. Because of this, the 2 AA batteries only last about 1-2 weeks. I have changed them 3 times already since purchase. Also after going through a few rains, the outside off/on switch has started to rust/corrode. I don't think I have had it 2 months yet. So I reordered the one I had for a few years that takes a D battery. I suppose if you are using this indoors in a control environment it will work for you. But, it just didn't meet my needs. Money wasted. After reading several reviews, I bought the white slower speed motor with remote to hang my spinner outside by the bird feeders. The wind spinner takes 2 AA batteries that did not come with it, but the C2025 battery for the remote did. You must make sure the spinner is turned on (see small tab on the bottom). I did read the remote would only work about 3 feet away and pointed directly at the spinner. That is correct. I had hoped I could stay on my screened in porch and use the remote in the evening to turn it off. That did not work, I have to step outside on my patio to make it work. But overall I am happy with it. I will know more of the inside corrosion after it has been rained on a few times. The last one I had didn't have a remote, but it lasted about 4 years.

I'd been thinking about purchasing a motor for my sunburst spinner ornament for a while and I decided to buy this one. I can only give it 4 stars because the remote control did not come with the coin cell battery, so I cannot test its speed change feature. The motor does not come with 2 AA batteries, but that is stated on the box.The motor turns on and off via a small switch next to what looks to be the receiver for the remote control.If the company will send me a new remote with the cell battery, or just the CR2025 battery (the battery type is on the box, however it does not state "NOT included" like the AA batteries), I can fully experience this product 😁

I like that the small size makes it very discreet and the fact we can use a remote. The spinner is not twirling really fast so it looks good for some decorations but you may not get the full effects of wind spinners.They work well enough and are very quiet.

The media could not be loaded.  Works really well with the Sorrel & Fern mobile I purchased for my son. It spins faster than a normal mobile, but he seems to really like that fact. The first one I received was missing the top loop but requesting a replacement was really easy and the new one arrived two days later. The remote is a nice feature so I don't have to worry about waking him up when I want to turn it off. The one downside is how long the motor is the arm that is for my mobile is not very tall so when he gets older I'll have to hang it from the ceiling so he can't grab it.

- a great little motor to spin your mirror ball. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 for sturdiness is because it does have a weight limit and the clips are not what I would call 'robust'.It would be better if these had a modulator for the rate of spin, or at least a couple of different speed settings, because this one was the slowest rotation I could find and it could still be a little slower. I agree with reviews for faster units that say they are way to fast. This one is the fastest rotation speed I would even consider and if I can find a slower one, it will replace this one. Otherwise, it us a great little spinner at a pretty good price.

It drains batteries incredibly fast, which sucks.

Works really well. It runs on 2 Double A batteries. I've had it running 24/7 for about 5 days now and it's still going. Very impressed with how quiet it is. Completely silent when in movement.
