Very good processor.
I wanted to test out AMD APUs for a long time. I needed low TDP and in same time plenty computing power to compile my Gentoo Linux.Pros :The specs here are wrong. It's not a 3.4GHz, it is in fact a 3.7GHz, the Turbo can stably bring it up to 4.2GHz.The integrated HD8670D is also a very good surprise, very powerful and low consumption. The price is very good.Cons :The pre-applied thermal paste is great when you find you don't have any left and want to test the processor. But i would recommend applying better one as soon as possible, or the processor accumulate heat quite fast under sustained pressure. With some Arctic Silver 5, the stock heatsink is enough.

Happy with APU not as happy with motherboard.
I upgraded from an AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.6GHZ 95 watt and am very happy with this new APU.The speakers include a Klipsch RW12D 12-inch Reference Subwooferthat I reviewed Aug. 26, 2013.This computer is in the media room but it cannot be heard when sitting within 3 feet even during very quiet scenes. This is only after setup of firmware and hardware.1. By using a separate $40 fan-less video adapter the entire power of the APU is devoted to computing so this system has quite adequate speed for software development and multitasking.2. By using a power supply with a bottom 120mm intake fan and mounting it in a case that has a filtered bottom air inlet mating to that fan, the power supply never gets warm enough to turn on that fan. The 90mm rear fan is disconnected! The case has 3 120mm exhaust fans which combine with convection forces to move a lot of air. Sadly Enermax no longer makes that power supply.3. By activating the motherboard push button for "OC Genie" the CPU auto selects speed (1.8 to 4.2 GHz) and voltages while minimizing power use and fan noise.4. By activating CPU Smart Fan in the MSI Control Center app, setting fan minimum speed @67% control point at 76°C and 91% fan maximum at 90°C, the CPU stays below 90°C and the stock APU fan has very low sound.A problem I first attributed to the APU was my new 1866 MHz memory stuck at 1333 MHz and AMD incorporates the memory control in the APU. By changing the DDR3 speed from [AUTO] to [1866]in BIOS I sensed a speed improvement and the MSI "BIOS II" app for the first time shows the DDR3 actually running 1866MHz. The MSI "Control Center" app still showed 1333 MHz so something has a bug. The [AUTO] setting should have worked! I was driving the APU to max speed. Emails are still being exchanged with service at MSI on this issue. My system:AMD APU, (CPU+GPU), A10-6700, 1.8-4.2GHz Turbo, 4 Core, 4 Thread 65 watt Mfg. num.

Ottimo rapporto prezzo/prestazioni
Provenendo da un Athlon Xp 3200+, be' il salto di qualità si nota eccome! Quattro core sono molto meglio di uno, così come 64 bit invece di 32... Linux vola, non c'è che dire!

Happy Linux User :)
This APU is just beautiful, in my opinion one of the best APUs around at the moment, works like a dream with all the Linux distros I've tested on it.Built-in GPU and a good one at that, as a matter-of-fact I specifically bought this APU for the brilliant balance of exceptional graphics and raw power, speaking of power, this CPU churns away at just 65W! :D which is pretty cool considering the model just-above this one guzzles 100W and isn't a hell of a-lot higher-spec (minutely better GPU and a mere 100Mhz more + overclock support)If you're a die-hard Linux user like me, then you'll be happy to know that even though this APU REQUIRES a graphics driver (otherwise resolution is limited, and video is glitchy) AMD is awesome enough to actively develop their 'AMD Catalyst' driver for Linux OSs too! :D and it's INCREDIBLY EASY to install!, a simple binary that even has a GUI when run, (if your variant of Linux has no GUI, it supports CLI too), no screwin' around with compiling 'n' stuff \o/anyway, once the proprietary driver's all set-up (so easy), the graphics in Linux OSs are astounding, especially for an APU.What else can I say?, it's the best APU I've ever laid my hands on, especially for the price, you should go buy it, whether you're a slave to Windows, or a humble Linux user like me, worth every penny :)[ I now run Xubuntu on it full-time, technically made for low-spec and older systems, but I myself really like the feel of it, nothing fancy, nice and simple, also is very stable compared to most other OSs.if you wanna try a Linux OS but aren't so clued-up about it, google 'Ubuntu', it's very user-friendly ]UPDATE: I've had this for about 2 years now, still good., word of advice, you may experience a random crash on occasion, don't worry there's a fix; just disable 'Core C6 state' in the CPU settings of your BIOS. there doesn't seem to be any forum posts about this, but it works.
