A Very Concise, Compact Biography and Filmography
This biography of Alfred Hitchcock by Charles River Editors, is a very compact and factually accurate of one of the all time great movie directors. There is a basic overview of his personal biography with approximately an equal amount of discussion of his movies.I feel it is either an excellent overview for someone who knows little about Alfred Hitchcock or a solid starting point for further study. It is not meant to be a lengthy, all encompassing traditional biography. As a student of Hollywood History, I cannot say that I learned a great deal by this particular biography. However I am using this work to study various movies in more depth. Just one example is as follows. Years ago I watched an excellent, dated Hitchcock movie "Shawdow of a Doubt". I had not realized until I read this biography is that the screenplay was written by Thornton Wilder. Recently I have read Thornton Wilder's first two short novels. I now intend to rewatch that movie and study it further in regard to the screenplay. I realize that may not mean a lot to some, but it is an example of what I get out of these products.Periodically I receive emails from Charles River Editors offering free Kindle products for a short period of time. These offers are open to all customers for a limited time. Consequently I downloaded this particular work for free. Obviously a quality product for free represents an unbeatable value. I do not know how or why I get these periodic emails. In summary I really liked this biography. It is short. These particular products are meant as summaries. I look for these products for free and download them whenever I find one for free. I really like them. Thank You...

Good book.
What I like the most of the book is that it focuses on the films and not the female protagonists, as it usually happens with other books. Very Recommended.

Alfred Hitchcock
Very interesting book about the master of suspense. But the author spent too much time reviewing his works, and too little time talking about Hitch's thoughts and feelings. And almost nothing about his childhood and teen years.

Superficial
I was very disappointed in this “book”. It would be better characterized as a term paper at a high school level. The 82 pages (which is in the description) includes a bibliography, the usual opening pages and a brief introduction and some poorly reproduced images. The type is quite large and this would boil down to about 30 pages in usual book form.(It took less than an hour to read). Many films were touched upon, but most discussions of said films ran only a few paragraphs. No in depth or novel information. Very cheaply printed.

Do NOT Waste Your Money!
I was shocked to see this "book" received any decent reviews! First clue that this is suspect: there is NO copyright information at all. It looks -- and reads -- as though some school kid just typed it out and turned it in as an assignment. (obviously overdue, since it was just slapped together). The text is a mixture of simple English and statements that were probably plagiarized from a collection of articles. There were LOTS of pictures of movie stars and scenes from many movies. Too bad that NO CREDIT was given for ANY of these pictures. This "book" is a TOTAL Rip-Off! Please DO NOT buf it!

A man ahead of his time in an industry made for his like
The master of suspense that often gave himself cameo roles in his films, often simply a walk on part. Hitchcock was a master of cinema for other reasons too. The use of lighting to convey menace was one such talent. There many films that could be mention such as Carnie, Rear Room Window, that showed off his style of cinema so well. An all together interesting character well worth learning more about. I recommend this ebook.
