Used with Linux Mint
I needed a computer that runs Linux. This fit the bill. Full-featured. I couldn't get Linux running on an HP. This has decent support, and 64 GB RAM. Wow.

Serious omissions in the product description.
The laptop was sold without disclosure that it's a discontinued model (2023) with aftermarket upgrades. It turns out that Dell originally sold the machine on 12/2/24. Someone upgraded the Ram and hard drive before I purchased it on 6/25/25. I was looking on Amazon to replace my previous Dell XPS 15 and assumed I was buying a new product. It seems this model was discontinued by Dell in late 2023 or early 2024. It was either a refurbished unit, previously used or returned stock, or old stock that sat in inventory after Dell discontinued it. It seems that either Amazon or the original seller, Risingstars, were not candid with the machine's provenance. Amazon is impossible to contact on the issue, and Risingstars' response to other complaints show that would be an irritating waste of time. I'm not sure whether the massive virus problems I have just resolved at great expense truly came from my old machine or whether I bought them with this one. Caveat emptor.

Wonderful Laptop, minus mouse pad
Overall this laptop has been great. Its become slightly noises over the past year. Also, the mouse pad area is overly annoying causing hand pain and at times is very sensitive even with the settings adjusted.

Did not last long before help needed
Got it set up and it was working fine for about two weeks until a Dell BIOS update a few days ago. Then would not boot or would partially boot and crash. Tried to recover it for two days using online assistance. Then called Dell tech support and they were great. They walked me through recovery., but it took over six hours and I lost all my loaded apps and data.
