This microphone has a very nice feel to it. The weight gives it a solid feel, but it's not too heavy. The sticker on the back says KMC-35, which appears to be a Kenwood model number, and based on the pictures I've seen, it looks identical, but I don't have a real Kenwood KMC-35 microphone to compare it against. If you want your microphone to be as light as possible, then take a look at the Arrowmax AAM300-K30 microphone, as it is a bit lighter than this AAM-350-K30 model microphone. I get good audio reports in my tests with this microphone, and is a good replacement for me. Double check the rubber boot on the radio end of the cable, and make sure it is oriented correctly, or you'll need to use excessive force to unplug it from the radio (you could slide the boot off while it is still plugged in, if you have any problems pushing that clip). If you want a replacement mic, that looks and feels like the KMC-35 mic, then you'll find that this Arrowmax AAM350-K30 microphone is what you want. And at $15, you'll find it's a good deal, compared to the alternatives.

I compared this to an actual Kenwood KMC-35 and except for 2 missing stickers (the Kenwood badge on front and the do not throw away on the back), it looks and feels like the actual Kenwood microphone. I tested it on a new Kenwood NX1700 mobile radio and it worked great and the audio quality is good.
