Heavy Duty pole.
Pretty solid pole. If your looking for a heavy duty pole this is it. I use a paddle holder for storage. And break it down in two pieces when not using the boat tucked under my kayak seat. Its diameter is just a little smaller than a paddle handle. It is heavy so you might look for a lighter type of that's a concern.

Good in sand, not gravel
The idea is great and it works good on sand, but not if your in very rocky/gravel areas.
