Oh yeah
Fun to use.Set up that trip line, install a blank cartridge, and enjoy! We only used this for fun, but can envision that it truly will be useful in real-world situations. We'll likely first test it when backcountry camping. For now, we can report the tripwire works.

Crap!!!!!!
This Chinese made junk is not capable of detonating a blank round at all even with my very capable hands on working on things like this stretching the main spring to create more power to strike no go and the retractable pin does not go back and have any velocity to fire did numerous things to make this contraption to fire and it did nothing every no fire totally china made crap to make money on junk

Listing says 12 gauge but a shell doesn't fit well into the device. .22 doesn't fit well either.
This feels well made with the materials, construction and finish, but the .22 adapter "flash port" fits very loosely and the .22 shell is also kind of loose in the adapter. When trying to use the 12ga shell it's a very tight fit, almost too tight. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, but it seems like things should fit more easily and have tighter tolerances. Strange considering it's the one thing that this device does. With the .22 shell I feel like I should secure the adapter with something. Unfortunately I think I'll search for another option so I have piece of mind that it will function properly when called upon.

Fun
This is a fun little toy to prank your friends with. It has a pretty loud bang from the primer. It is also good for camp security. Would buy again.

Great Alternative to trying to find a Flash-Bang Trip Alarm!
This Trip Alarm is really a great value for what you get! For one, it comes with the 22 blank adapter. This device is a fantastic perimeter alarm and does a solid job of scaring off large, dangerous critters that may wish to check out the offerings at your campsite; whether its you or some other food that the bear, cougar, etc. smells, its best to keep them away. Plus, these animals are very intelligent; as a US Park Ranger told me: "These animals will associate food with campsites and come calling or you can help the critters to associate danger with campsites and they will avoid them, I would rather have my campsite avoided, especially wile I am sleeping!" This is a very effective way to keep these animals away from areas that they really should not be, anyway. Moreover, bears that become habitual offenders are usually moved to other, less populated areas when possible but they often have to be destroyed before this can occur. Devices like this help keep you and them both safe.Because of the way that these devices are designed, There is a loud bang and a little flash when they are set-off and very little to no risk of flying debris when used properly.

USE WITH CAUTION
We've had more than our fair share of predator problems with our coops over the past year, losing over 60 birds. All of my coops were built predator proof, which is fairly easy being that its a solid structure. The run is a different story being that it's on top of the ground, and continuously changes. Outside of pouring concrete and using steel bars, I don't think it's possible to fully predator proof chicken housing. We have electric wire running, bird netting, deer netting, live traps and spring traps, motion sensor flood lights in all directions, and several homemade tripwires along the outer perimeter which trigger more lights and sprinklers. Now we've added this one, hoping the sound when triggered will instill enough fear predators won't want to try again. Tripwire gadgets are easy to make yourself and easy to make harmless. Buyers of this product should be well advised to use with caution. Misuse or modifications can and will result in serious injury. There are no warnings on the packaging at all. And a parts diagram on a small piece of paper folded up inside. In very fine print on the bottom of that paper it does say to use with caution and then goes into liabilities. So use your own judgement I guess, I am neutral on this one.

Pretty cool little device
This feels like a pretty well made and durable device. It's pretty easy to use and set up and this model came with instructions whereas the previous device I got from a different seller did not so this is greatly appreciated. It didn't take long to set up a test trip wire to see how responsive and effective this thing is. It works as advertised so far. Now I need to try and find me some blanks to use. Hopefully, they don't require a background check here in NY, like normal ammunition does now unfortunately, because I refuse to play their anti-2nd ammendment games. I don't own any regular ammunition but I really don't think I would use live ammunition in these trip wire devices anyway because it just doesn't seem like a very safe or wise idea. Definitely stick to blanks or other noise making devices that can't harm anyone accidentally or intentionally even. I Definitely like this device and will probably end up getting a couple more for larger & more complete perimeter protection. The price is very reasonable and If you do any camping or hunting in situations where you need to be on the look out for 4 legged and/or 2 legged creatures, then I would recommend giving these a look.
