One of the best built Chinese Diesel Heaters Iโve seen
Itโs no Espar, but the ChuBu Diesel Heater All in One 5KW/8KW 12V-24V Portable Diesel Air Heater with Muffler, Remote Control, LCD Monitor, & 4.5L Tank is a great value. The only downside is the same green hose used by a number of suppliers which everyone should replace before the first use. Rigid case. Great intake, output, and exhaust hoses. An effective air filter with a real element. No sharp edges. Good quality workmanship. An excellent rubber shroud to dampen the fuel pumpโs clicking. A wiring harness instead of separate wires. Even has a clip on the fuel hose to keep it in place. Unfortunately, it turned out to be too tall for my application because of the way I routed the exhaust. A great product despite my inability to use it in my camper.

Seems to be identical to more expensive heaters.
I was fortunate when I ordered 3 of these 5k/8k diesel heaters because they were on sale for just under $100 ea. Assembly is rather easy, the exhaust goes on the front down pipe and combustion air on the back down pipe. Attach the muffler to one end of the exhaust pipe and connect the air filter to one end of the combustion hose. I used a deep well socket to wiggle around inside bothe the exhaust and combustion hose to enlarge the openings slightly for easier insertion on heater outlets. Having the cover off and the heater raised up makes it easier to tight the clamps. There was only one exhaust clamp included so I used it at the heater connection. I didn't clamp at the muffler. I definitely recommend testing the unit outside very smelly. Battery plus/minus are clearly defined. Add fuel, connect your battery. Hold both the up & down arrow buttons to prime the heater, you will hear the pump start to click. With the cover still off, check for fuel moving in the fuel lines. Once you see fuel in the pumps output line release buttons. Be careful not to over prime heater. Press and hold the start/stop button until unit starts & release. The fan should start & the pump shortly afterwards. I tested all 3 heaters the first ran right away after assembly. It comes with a nice book in several languages. Poor assembly instructions but not especially complicated. I suggest building a stand to raise the heater as much as 6 inches above the legs to make room for exhaust and combustion intake hoses. Remove the case with 4 snap latche's and inspect fuel lines for kinks. The lines that come with the heater seem to kink with the sharp bends required in their routing. Only one of my 3 heaters had kinks in the lines, so I took some slightly larger stiff line I had and slid the hose in it to encase the kinks. Temporarily fix. It's been recommended to replace these fuel lines with a stiffer line. However I've always had good luck with silicone fuel Ines so I ordered some of which if it works on the ones with kinked lines, I'll replace all fuel lines in all 3 heaters. After running one of the heaters on low temperature all night I found the heater off in the morning with a fuel error. There was still plenty of fuel so it must have failed during the night. Holding both the up & down arrow buttons is how you prime the heater but there was no sound from the pump. So I contacted Amazon and asked for a replacement. Replacement was not available so Amazon refunded me the price I paid plus tax to my credit card. The second pump has now been running all night, I'll be checking on its status shortly and revise this review accordingly. I have since ordered me a couple of spare fuel pumps and a couple of glo plugs. About the only other thing I can see that might fail on these heaters would be the control board. I'll probably look info ordering at least one of those. I believe these style heaters are identical. Some may be built with better components, I don't know, but I believe all are probably made at the same factory and stamped with different names. Just my opinion because they look and run identically.

A lot for a little red box
The piping intended to fit the exhaust lines would not fit. I had to stretch the ends a little to get them together. The little muffler leaks like a sieve and should be outside.. I found it really made no difference. But this little box does put out the heat. Not as portable as I would hope as the eshaust line MUST go outside, but for my cabin, it will do just fine where it is. I actually bought two of them and the other one will go in the kitchen.

Terrible, just terrible. Zero stars.
Been setting as a backup, so return window closed. Soon as we hooked it up, it came on, ran for about 6 hours and promptly caught fire. Dead short on ignitor. Took out the power supply, and melted the wires up the wall. Don't do it. Just don't.
