You want to have these wrenches
I absolutely love these wrenches. The set I received was made in Taiwan. A set of wrenches from Gearwrench I received about 1-2 years ago was China made, and the wrenches are absolutely horrible. These wrenches are more like the older Gearwrench ratchets, a quality and straight wrench. Straight is no joke, the China wrenches often came with a banana type shape when looking at the end-to-end. I have three Craftsman 26 inch toolboxes. Nothing professional, but I am a DIYer and have no need for the more expensive boxes. The tray the wrenches come in is about 1/2 inch too long to fit vertically in the drawers. The issue exists with all three of them, from an old 80s style, to the 75th anniversary box to a normal about 2000-ish box. This has no impact on wrench performance though, so I did not even reduce a star for this. The wrenches themselves are great. The non ratcheting box ind has very thin walls, which if it were not for a lifetime warranty, I would complain about. I do see this helpful in allowing access in the very tightest of spaces. For the reason I purchased this, and I Am sure the reason most others are looking at this, the length of the wrenches is about perfect. I have worked on a few Asian cars now where the bolts are very close to the fenders or other parts of the car. It makes getting a socket and ratchet in there nearly impossible. The length and offer of the non ratcheting box end make this a perfect wrench in those situations. If you need wrenches that provide greater access due to length, give these a shot.

Good for professional use.
Needed something reasonably priced for reaching nuts and bolts in tight spots with little swing room. Good quality and they work well. Better price than Icon. Used by a dealership technician while replacing the "Lovely, Easy to Repair" GM 3.0 Diesel engine.

Bought for my son, a dealer master-mechanic.
There tools are a great value. My son is a master-mechanic at a new car dealership, and usually buys his tools from “that truck” that frequents dealerships and repair shops. Those are ~really~ expensive tools; these are not, and he says they work and hold up just as well. He really likes these long-reach wrenches. Apparently most of the Techs there are onto GearWrench, and really liking the line. These wrenches were a great gift, and I will be buying more of their tools, and they make some really cool ones too.

Very Nice Wrenches... but why no 10mm?
Zero issues with this long set of ratcheting wrenches. I did see that there were some gaps and cost was good so I got the set and filled gaps as needed. I think the company could fill the gaps on the low end and have people fill at the top... that would be customer friendly. If you need a 10mm, or 12mm plan ahead.

My favorite style wrench
These extra long 0-degree offset wrenches are my favorite style. The extended lip on one side of the box end helps when you need a little clearance to get close to something. The ratcheting end is nice too. The extra length is great for reaching into places, and the 0 offset makes it easier to apply torque in awkward spots as long as you can get the wrench on. I keep a set at home and a set in my junkyard box. The only thing to keep in mind, mainly with the smaller sizes, is that the length and lack of offset means you can apply a lot of torque very easily - enough to break or over-torque smaller fasteners without even trying. I try to make a practice of holding them as close to the fastener to avoid this. I have seen a few mentions of receiving the blow-mold style tray or not. Both sets I have came with the tray (2020 and 2022 purchases). I find the tray to be far too bulky, though, and I don’t use either tray. They take up way too much space in the toolbox drawer, and both had a few wrench slots that weren’t tight. The photos show the wrenches in a typical wrench rack (not included) compared to the included tray to demonstrate the amount of extra bulk the tray will take up. Too much wasted space for me to.

Good long handled wrenches. Lots of torque.
Good long handled box wrenches. Lots of torque. One side ratcheted and the other fixed box ends. They seem to be of good quality with a decent finish. I have been using these wrenches for about 2 months now and so far I am very pleased with the set. I would recommend for the advanced DIY automotive mechanic.

These spanners are my first Gearwrench product. Gearwrench are owned by Apex tool group. These tools are made in Taiwan versus PRC and have withstood some serious abuse. I recommend them. I now use these over breaker bars due to the risk of slipping being virtually nil (apply torque with one hand and hold another over the ring end). I purchased the remaining 5 piece spanners to complete the set from Amazon US as it was significantly cheaper to import. Do not buy the full 17 piece set as this is, for reasons only Amazon understands, significantly more expensive than the 12 piece and 5 piece sets separately. The ultra polished finish is a bit overkill as it will inevitably get scratched. But they are tools and tools should be used. Before using them in anger, I cut them into some shadow foam. I highly recommended doing this to keep them to hand and organised.

I use these wrenches for the last 6 years now. I can confidently say that they are always my top pick when i do any kind of brake, suspension or steering jobs on vehicles. The extra leverage of these is a real benefit for braking loose any stubborn fasteners. These are also flat, there is no angle in them. It allows me to reach easier any fasteners without interfering with other components. I was surprised at first, i thought that the opposite would happen, nice surprise! After a full 6 years of use, i must say that the finish still looks very good. They are easy to clean with a small spray of brake cleaner and a quick wipe with a clean rag. Nothing more is needed. There was no need for me to contact Gearwrench/Apex for any warranty issues so far; the wrenches have held up to hundreds different jobs since without asking for a break! Their inner ratcheting mechanism still works fine on all of them. Would i buy this same set again? Absolutely, without any hesitations. With this set including sizes from 8-19mm, it covers most mechanical needs for a small shop. Also, use them smartly, don’t use extra leverage on them. Don’t use the ratcheting mechanism for braking stubborn fasteners loose. There is other more appropriate tools for that . Included is a picture of the 10mm gearbox wrench from the kit compared to other popular models. Canadian viewers will recognize their beloved Mastercraft wrenches as a comparaison. As you can see, it’s a good 30% longer then your standards 10mm wrenches. 10mm size is one of the most used sizes around the house and doing automotive maintenance. This picture will hopefully be helpful for comparison. Enjoy!
