Needed a new scan tool to diagnose newer vehicles and decided to buy the D1 Max. First things first, the scan tool fits nicely in the hands, has a big display to see more data, makes for easier use. The VCI is nice and small. Has a light to be able to find the OBD port which is convenient. Can also use the VCI as a J2534 on your PC. Which is a bonus for those that use OE software. The layout is simplistic. Wish the tool had topology, but it’s not really that needed for diagnostics. You plug in the VCI and the tool detects the car for you, saving you a couple clicks. Scans the modules fast, easy to see the codes and has bidirectional control. The tool does what it needs to do. All in all not a bad tool for the money. EDIT - For the people talking about issues connecting to the security module, it doesn’t matter what scan tool you buy, to access FCA, or CAN FD, etc you will either need adapters, or purchase the security gateway license. That is pretty standard on all scan tools. In the right hands this tool can do a lot. Recently was able to use this with a Nissan to code in a module, where consult was giving me issues. You have to understand how to use the tools you have. A scan tool isn’t a hail grave that you plug into your car and it magically fixes everything. It’s a tool you use for diagnostics and testing, you need to learn how to use it to understand just how capable it is

It is amazing how much this scabtools does for the price point, I am always finding new "Active test" funtions, battery feels like is going to fast forever, VCI is wireless and it is fast, it feel well built, and the Autel software is really intuitive is amazing.

So far this scantool has proven to be just as good as a top tier brand name one. Very pleased thus far with the capabilities, how fast it runs and the overall quality. A must have for any working shop. Super fast lots of capabilities other scanners do not have

Pure crap, no kickstand and no way to hold it. Knockoff software is already setup, no registration code whatsoever. Contains hundreds of foreign cars not sold in the USA and Ford says it’s for European Fords. Listing lies about screen resolution. This about the cheapest Android tablet you can buy. Can’t believe I paid almost $1200 for this Chinese junk. First car I hooked it to failed to connect to security module right after it said it was connected. I wouldn’t pay $10 for this scan tool.

Bought this to upgrade my personal tool and hand my previous one down to a younger tech to use. Extremely happy with this tool and it’s been working flawlessly. Very fast and the bluetooth connection is extremely convenient. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for a quality affordable scan tool.
