My recently purchased Samsung Galaxy A54 lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack or, indeed, any form of analogue audio signal from its USB C-type connector. The solution to this problem is to use a device that has its own Digital/Analogue Converter (DAC), such as these iMangoos.These earbuds come with three different-sized pairs of soft silicone earbud tips and I had no difficulty selecting the size that suits me best because the Mediums were already fitted on delivery. The buds sit securely and comfortably in my ear canals and the snug fit means that the device's noise cancelling feature hardly seems necessary. Since headphones in this class never provide on/off controls for noise cancellation, it's difficult to decide what effect the feature might have, if any. Anyway, these buds naturally exclude extraneous noise very efficiently. There is a neat little clothes peg style clip included with the buds which allows you to tether the cable to your clothing to relieve any stress that might occur while you are physically active. The supplied zip-up case provides a welcome solution to the problem of where to store the headset and its bits and bobs when not in use.The buds deliver a strong performance right across the audible frequency range, to my octagenarian ears at least, with just the merest hint of fuzziness in the mids. I do not know if it's an unwelcome design feature or if it's just my set that is affected but vocals seem to lack the crystal clarity delivered, say, by the Aolcev ear buds that I reviewed recently. The headset's buttons behave faultlessly to control the audio signal and the A54's call handling facilities so full marks there. Full marks, too, for value for money, tangle-free cabling and rugged construction. These iMangoos are built to last!I think it might be worth mentioning here that I also own a UGREEN right-angled USB C to 3.5mm Jack Headphone Adapter which lets me use any set of headphones that have a 3.5mm headphone jack. This includes my cheap and cheerful JVC Flats which are my favoured on-ear headset for occasions when I need to be aurally aware of what's going on around me. I can also use my Samsung wired earbuds which have the advantage of being able to control the Galaxy A54's volume, track selection and call answering facilities. The quality of the audio signal delivered by the dongle is excellent so it's a very useful gizmo for driving any of my passive headsets from the Galaxy. I bought this solid, right-angled adapter because I thought it might be less of a dangle tangle dongle than the many cable adapters on offer and it certainly doesn't disappoint on that score. Also recommended.
