I have used several different brands of thermal plastics to form holsters and knife sheaths. This particular brand has served me well, and has been used to form a holster that I have carried daily for over a year. It has been through the elements during hard training, including very cold temperatures and has yet to fail me. While it does show some signs of wear and abuse, there is no cracking. It was easy to form, and formed just as precisely and easily as Kydex brand thermal plastics. The only notable difference, is the color is different from other brands, but that is to be expected.

BEWARE****** this is not kydex, when you search kydex this shows up but it is not even close. When you heat it for forming it shrinks and curls and if you try to form it you will break it. When it cools it is very brittle. Do not use for anything your life depends on. This product is not for holsters or sheaths. I thought fybrex was just the name brand and bought it. After cutting out multiple pieces and trying several times to heat and form new pieces, I realized it wasn’t my template causing all the issues. I kept ripping and cracking the material while trying to get it to form around a mold I’ve used many times before. But in the end I looked and It’s just not the right material. My bad for trusting the search feature.

This is the first time I've worked with ABS and I really like these panels. The texture is just as it looks in the pictures on one side, and smooth on the back side. I'm using it to make an automotive switch panel, and the texture will blend in perfectly with the interior, eliminating any painting or finishing work. Its stiff enough but yet will bend with heat applied and retain its shape, so I will be able to mold it easily. I'll be purchasing more.

It works like Kydex but, not as stiff. For my application it worked just fine.
