Beef is best
I tried the chicken, pork, and beef TVP. The beef one is by far the best in texture and flavor. It isn't like beef, but it is the best TVP I have tried so I will only buy the beef one from now on, along with the regular big bag granules (I mix them for my dishes)

Smaller chunks than I expected
The chunks are very small, but they do get a tad bigger when they're rehydrated. It's easy for it to get quite 'crumby' if you're not too careful with it. There is a seasoning on this, which actually makes it taste great. Most TVP do not have any seasoning, so that was a delightful surprise. It worked great in my stir fry!

Good chew, needs more flavor!
I bought this for the beef to use for hot dog chili. There was some confusion with the description, I was expecting granules/chunks as apposed to the flakes I received. Either way, they worked great for the recipe. I have since used them for a fabulous meatless loaf.

Good source of protein
Not much of a taste. If you add flavoring to this it is very good. I ussed it in vegetarian chili, but I found that I needed one extra package of chili powder. I precooked it in a pan with water and added it to the chili once it was almost done.

Veggie Fakes! Not chunks
This is more of “flakes” than actual chunks, and the pictures are misleading.. they have the dark kind and the lighter version, the picture depicts the darker version, however, this is the lighter version. Tossed in the garbage, since I can’t return!

Terrible quality. The "chunks" aren't even chunks
Terrible quality. The "chunks" aren't even chunks. The bags weren't wrapped well first off, and all the "chunks" were actually just crumbs. Would have been better off (and cheaper) to order textured soy protein or something instead. Very disappointed in the purchase.

Pulse it in a food processor first to break up the bigger flakes
Out of the bag, it looks a lot like bran flakes. The first time I used them, I followed the directions on the package, and the bigger flakes just got chewy and unpleasant to eat. Second time, I pulsed it ~5 times in a food processor before adding water, and was much happier with the result. I'm using it in sloppy joes, where you taste the sauce and the spices more than the meat, and it's not bad.

I will recommend it to anyone
At first I wondered what in the world was this stuff. but once I followed the instructions on how to use it. it just made my day. I will recommend it to anyone. It is just the right thing to replace that chicken or beef you thought you just has to have.
