Not suited for an aquarium!
I was trying out this light for a 5 gallon fluval chi planted tank. First off its an ugly looking light. Second, if you secure it to the glass by tightening the screw, the top of the light sits at an angle exposing the actual LEDs to the world making it intolerable to have the light on and enjoy in the room. If you don't screw in the light it lays flat and you're not exposed to the bulbs but also risk bumping off. Especially if you have a cat. There are 3 different light modes. Only one however may be suitable for a planted tank. Water was yellowish brown after 2 different 6hour cycles only. I'll call this "normal" white light. The fist mode is a full spectrum light that illuminates the normal white lights, the red lights, and the blue lights. I tried this setting after 10 days of the just using the normal white light and it turned my plants white, bleaching them in six hours. It may be correct for salt water but I have no experience with that. Not good for plants. The blue is a crazy un-natural blue. Even on the lowest setting. Absolutely unpleasant to look at.The description makes note that it is dimmable. While true, there are only 3 dimmable settings. High, medium, and low and it is a huge pain to change. The three modes of lighting can be switched by swiping the switch if your lucky. I found this method (swiping) to give me the best "luck" when turning it on and switching between modes to dim. You have to swipe to the correct color and then (if your lucky enough) continue to hold you finger on the touch switch and hopefully watch it switch into the dimming mode. Be careful, if you miss your setting and don't take your finger off time, you have to try it all over again. Absolutely the worst design ever. They say it works with a timer. Well, sort of. If you cut power to the light then reintroduce power (ie - any timer in the world) it only lights up on the full spectrum mode on the "high" setting. This is how it bleached my plants. In 6 hours! The timer function is absolutely worthless and detrimental to a planted tank.Even for less than $30 I have full on buyers remorse on this light. I would have rather had a nice steak dinner. It's ugly. It's really non functional for a planted tank. The switch is horribly designed and it can't really be used with a timer. Not even sure it'd be comfortable for a desk lamp. Keep looking. I'm gonna bite the bullet and get a kessil tuna sun.

looks beautiful on my tank
Bought this 12W light for my 12 inch fish tank, looks beautiful on my tank. Small but very bright. Three modes could be controlled by the same touch button, all the modes could be switched smoothly. The tank looks very clear and bright when I choose the color light mode or keep the light full on. The blue light mode makes the fish looks really wonderful. I have keep it work for few days, no noise, good heat dissipation (maybe because it is low-power, not much heat produced), good so far.

Not impressive
As others have stated, the touch control is poor. I was able to fumble around until I found the correct spot to touch, but it seemed to move around. Controlling the on/off function with a timer gave no problem. The light seemed to be of good intensity, but the color spectrum was bad for growing corals. Under blue lights, the corals did not glow very well when they did under other lighting. My mushrooms, gsp and pipe organ also lost color and began to brown out after a month under this light but they gained the color back under a different light. There was a very small amount of disco ball effect over my 5g pico, but not enough to be bothersome. Overall this light would be fine for a fish only setup, but I wouldn't try to grow corals or freshwater plants under it.

Great light spectrum ,but the touch sensor not good.
The light works, its light settings are really nice. The issue the touch system. It kind of worked for about three weeks then it got to the point that you could get it the light on but it took 2+ minutes or many ,many times trying to get it off. most of the time it is just easier to unplug it.

Nice, but color mix is a little off.
The light is very conduct and easy to install but the cookie mix is a little off. There are three modes: blue only, white only, and red/white/blue.The white-only mode is a good daylight white but the LEDs look a little anemic because of the parts of the spectrum they don't cover. That's just a limitation of white LEDs generally, not something unique to this product. The problem is that, in the RWB mode, there are no green LEDs to balance out the red and blue LEDs so the light has a purplish tint.I stuck a couple opaque stickers over some of the red and blue LEDs to alleviate this a little but, without the green, there's only so much you can do.

barely functioning
the lights are ok.. for freshwater tanks with plants purchase a different light. this is more geared toward marine tanks.. the on off (touch pad) barely works and is hard to get to actually work.. the dinning function is pretty much non existing and barely changes in intensity.. Im returning the light and going to be purchasing something else.. my advise is if you need something quick and cheap then this will work but spend some extra money and get something quality instead.

my plants grow happier under this light
Bought this light for my nano fresh water tank, my plants grow happier under this light. Very easy to install and what surprised me was that it has 3 modes as shown in my pictures. Just need to touch one button and I could choose the lighting, perfect! The power of this aquarium light is only 12W, but very bright. Nice!In short, I feel this is a great light at a great price, my plants and I love it.

Light for non-lidded tank.
Great light; just would not work for my tank that has a hinged lid. I would have to remove the light to open the lid on the Nano tank....then I wouldn’t be able to see what I needed to do to work inside the tank. If you don’t have or need a lid that raises up on hinges, then it would work great. I have a Betta in this tank and they Do Jump so I must have a lid.
