Super bright light at a great price
As a fan of previous Sofirn flashlights, I was excited to try this one out. Like their other models, the SC28 has good build quality, nice anodizing, and is comfortable in the hand. Due to being a "tactical" style flashlight it incorporates simple to use controls that allow the user to select between 6 levels of brightness and a strobe setting. At the lowest setting it emits a dim glow which is great for up close work when you don't want to disturb the people next to you. The turbo setting, on the other hand, is extremely bright and the strobe setting, which also works at this brightness, is pretty disorienting. The flashlight is a little larger than regular flashlight but still easily fits in a pocket or small pouch. To change the brightness, when turned off, the tail mounted button can be partially depressed to advance to the next brightness level. Once the brightest setting has been reached, it starts over again at the dimmest setting. A full click of the button will turn the flashlight on at the brightness previously selected. The flashlight has three modes of operation: the first loops though all the brightness levels, the second loops trough the three lowest settings, and the third loops through turbo, strobe, and medium. The mode can be selected by quickly turning the flashlight off and back on again after the light flickers. The profile of the light beam is a nice wide cone with a slightly brighter center. The light is a neutral white with no hints of blue. The SC28 comes with a 21700 battery which can be swapped out or charged in the flashlight via the USB-C port. The charge of the battery is indicated by an LED on the side of the flashlight which is useful for knowing state of the battery at a glance. Also included are a pocket clip, lanyard, and charging cable. If you're looking for this style of flashlight, I don't think you can go wrong with the SC28!

First one lasted 2 weeks. Hope it's just a fluke.
A lot to like about this light, super bright. This beam profile is almost all flood, but it throws a little bit just due to sheer output. My first one fried while I was charging it via USB and never came back on. Replacement seems to be working fine. First one had such a warm color it looked like 4000k, so I think something was just wrong with that one. I do like it has "tactical" mode option, which is not a true lockout to turbo, but it does default to turbo, strobe, medium layout at every turn on, and the mode switching is very very fast, so you have to be deliberate to change modes, that's good for momentary use. Like I said it's not a true lockout as I prefer, but in practice it works ok. At least you know it's going to be on turbo when you hit that button the first time which is half the battle. For the price on sale, it's hard to complain too much. It's pretty small for a 21700 light too and easily fits my pocket.

GARBAGE - Skip this one
Wanted a half way decent flashlight in my vehicle. This is not it. Stopped working after a few charges. No physical damage, battery seems fine and holds voltage - it's just a poorly designed / made flashlight.

Bright flashlight that feels great in the hand
Very bright. Great addition to my ever-growing collection of Sofirn and non-Sofirn flashlights. Rechargeable battery included, and a USB-C port built in to the flashlight, so no separate charger needed. I was glad to see the battery is a Sofirn 21700. I have several of these batteries and they work well. The knurled grip of this flashlight feels great in the hand. Three modes in the UI. I prefer the default one that has five brightness settings from moonlight to turbo mode. Retains your last used mode, which I like. All around great tactical light that fits easily in a pocket and is very bright.
