This is a quality battery at the most competitive price I could find anywhere. My car (2014 BMW 320xD) is one of many that requires "coding" when having a new battery fitted. This needs specialist software and plugging into the diagnostic port. If you don't do this then the car will overcharge the new battery and the life will be massively shortened. Madness that cars like mine (and most) are unable to detect a new battery and do this automatically. The "mechanic" I engaged claimed to be able to do this but his equipment was not up to the job and I ended up going to the garage that does my servicing. So, my advice is to ask the mechanic to verify that his equipment can communicate with the battery management system BEFORE allowing him to fit the new battery. He does not need to enact any changes at this point but just prove to you (on screen) that he has accessed the code and his equipment will allow him to make the changes.

Don't buy. Will not replace after five months of use, response from company after sending back for testing, it could have been faulty when sent out as it was 5 months old then.I am just emailing regarding the outcome of your warranty claim. The warranty on your battery covers all faults caused by manufacturing workmanship or material. The warranty however does not cover the following Non-Manufacturing Defects like sulphation, Wear and Tear, Deep or Over Cycling, Overcharging, or undercharging, Case damage, Terminal damage, Incorrect Application, Fault Diagnosis / Installation. As the voltage is below 10.4V, a process of sulphation occurs. Sulphation is a build-up of lead sulphate crystals and this can cause loss of cranking power, longer charging times and premature battery life. Crystals can build naturally in a battery, but with regular use and charging of the battery the crystals are small enough to be broken down. However, at the point of sulphation these crystals are so big that they cannot be broken down by the battery’s natural process. This reduces the conductive area on the metal plates inside of the battery, which means there is less usable capacity.As your battery’s voltage is reading 2.94V, the battery is fully discharged, however as the battery has not been recharged sufficiently it has led the voltage to drop further to the point of sulphation. This then prevents the battery from working to its full capacity again. Unfortunately, based on these details which are stated in our terms, we are unable to replace this battery under the warranty and it is now void. I think it will last well, and it probably works out cheaper than buying a battery from a garage or auto store and paying to have it fitted and then getting them to register it on your car's computer. These batteries are heavy. On my 3 Series BMW, there's a clamp on the right hand side which needs to be unscrewed and you need a long box spanner for that. Easy to do your back in just by removing the old battery and putting the new one in. The tricky part is to register your battery so that the car won't overcharge it or undercharge it. I installed an app on my phone called BimmerLink which I think cost 36 dollars, and I had to buy a Vgate iCar Pro from Amazon, which communicates with the app. These items are useful for monitoring the condition of your BMW as well as registering a new battery. Maybe I haven't necessarily saved much money compared with buying the Halfords battery and having them install it, but I prefer to learn a DIY skill whenever possible!

Excellent replacement for the original battery in my Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio. It is longer than the original OEM Varta unit but the battery bay is long enough and has the right fixing holes for this size.

Came perfectly fine, fitted and so far working without issues!! Preciously have a 75ah varta which was down to 50% battery life but car really didn't like it. My only issue with the battery was the missing Bosch code sticker that is usually used to code in the battery to the car, managed to figure out what to put from looking at the other parts of the battery
