If you have a MacBook, seriously, don't buy this. I used it to link my MacBook 12 inch to a Samsung monitor and it flickered and cut out constantly. Called Apple who tried to get me to do numerous things to fix it - but it ended up damaging my software and I had to re install my whole operating system. Went to the Apple Store and they showed me the Apple approved HDMI converter, which had no problems at all with a clear picture and link up to the monitor, and said that the small operating system in this converter is not compatible and can damage your laptop. So if you value your £1000 plus laptop, don't skimp on this because it caused me not only an hour on the phone but a journey to the Apple store and 4 hours to completely reset my laptop system. Not worth it!!!!

I'll explain why I put 5-star later. I notice this was one of the cheapest available and had brilliant reviews and despite no mention on whether it works with Nintendo Switch, I thought I would give it ago and can always send it back and try something else. It's for my Son who's been doing nothing, but playing on his new console, but also sometimes wants to play on his own TV and you have to use the dock for playing on the big screen. It's no different to unplugging a device from the TV and connecting it to another, but something like this would be hugely convenient so he can just take the console upstairs and connect it to this device to make it much easier.I can say that unfortunately It does not work with the Nintendo Switch. The TV keeps showing on the screen that it's connected to the TV, but the TV stays blank and still shows on the console screen. It's a shame, but I knew that it was a risk not knowing if it would anyway. I saw that nobody else has tried it and thought well might as well for incase other people think the same

Unfortunately the HDMI output was garbled with 1080 and 720 resolutions. Tested with 3 different screens and a projector, would only work with 4:3 aspect monitor on a sub-HD resolution. USB C power pass-through worked, as did the USB connection. The unit I received had sharp edges on the housing where the cuts had not been sanded out.Unfortunate for the price, was expecting better.

It's a good bit of kit for a good price. The connector and sockets are a tiny bit 'scratchy', but that's being really picky and I guess Apple connectors are just that much more expensive. It works really well though, no issues with charging my laptop and phone simultaneously at all. For the price, great.

This adapter is rubbish. The connection where it plugs into the laptop just does not fit snuggly - the result is that it has proven near impossible to link up my laptop to TV through HDMI which is what I bought this for. Every time I try to use it involves a lot of jiggling around to try and get it to connect properly, only for it to break again seconds later. Avoid!!

I was really happy with this adapter at first but unfortunately it doesn't work continuously when both a display is connected through the HDMI connection and the computer is charging. Both the display and the charger lose connection for a few seconds, then reconnect. It works fine when I only use the HDMI connection without charging. I was using it with a new MacBook Pro. I contacted the seller about my issues and they were very quick to send a replacement (which unfortunately had the same issues) and then gave me a full refund. I am very happy with how the situation was dealt with.

Purchased this for my Lenovo tablet/workbook which just had a single USB-C port for charging and connecting to any external display. Bought this after searching a while and could not be happier with the purchase. It was instantly recognised by the Windows version and worked out of the box. Its small size makes it pretty compact in the desk area. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to connect to a display and power charging their device at the same time through a USB-C port

Have bought several of these, and returned the majority; they either have a lot of flicker and glitches on the HDMI output, or no output at all. The odd one works OK, so there's clearly a quality issue; this tested with an otherwise-known working monitor, HDMI cable and laptop (MacBook).
