Peggy Piggle's First Day of School

Wonderful artwork and fun story of first day at school.

I bought this book as a gift for my “niece and grand-nephew”. It was the premise of the story that attracted me first… many of the characters in the story come from diverse parents… Peggy Piggle herself is from a father who is a Turtle and a mother who is a Pig. It deals so simply (and subtly) with the anxieties she feels about going to school and thinking she is “different”… a great lesson for young children today.I liked it so much, I bought 4 more for friends of mine with young children. I laughed when one of my friends told me that when his astute little 3 year-old got to the part in the book where Peggy meets the Sprinky the big bad cat, she immediately wanted to jump ahead in the story to see if she could find more pages with Sprinky on them… she loved him… lol.The artwork is great, and obviously engaging.

This book is an exceptional children's book. It is filled with strong positive messages in a wonderful story with superb illustrations. Bravo! I can't wait for the next one.Joe F

I loved the story, the characters and the artful illustrations. Peggy Piggle and her pals are great mix of personalities growing up together and making new friendships along the way. Peggy has some challenges with her first day of school but through the help of her new friends, like Bobby Bearilla, she was able to come home at the end of her first day of school with new confidence. A great story about facing and learning from daily challenges.

Great story , beautiful illustrations, meaningful for children to be proud of their uniqueness.

Really love the illustrations and the fun characters. Nice story about how we're all different but share the same feelings.
