BALLISTOL Pump sprayer 650 ml empty, 21353 or matching spray attachment

I was pleasantly surprised by the pump and the reservoir after having reservations about the cost for just a pump. The pump arrived with a 500ml reservoir.I don’t like using aerosol and prefer to choose my own oil mixes so this is great for the environment.The pump is strong and the spray can be easily adjusted.

I cancelled this item before it arrived so it is not entirely fair to be reviewing it, but I just want to warn people that this is an empty container with no oil in it.

This item came with an empty can, nothing in it!!! And now I have to walk 20 minutes into town to return it since they won’t refund. A freaking scam.

This is a spray head and an aluminium can, both of apparently good quality.The empty can is identical to that of the 500ml cans of Ballistol oil.Therein lies the dropped star. As it's empty, you need to buy a can of oil to fill it, so why do I need to buy the empty can?I can purchase simple plastic spray bottles for £1. Therefore, even if high quality, for a spray head alone it's expensive, for the spray head and unnecessary container it's still over priced. The only benefit is that if it's a good quality spray head that doesn't degrade on exposure to oil or light (which cheap ones often do) then it's a reliable unit to have on the shelf and, for me, often preferable to an aerosol. Only time will tell on reliability.Long term additional comment: the can is great, the sprayer sprays.However the nozzle does not turn off. Why is that a problem? As the can gets warm in a hot workshop it builds pressure and the oil leaks over the bench ... I've taken two stars off for that as it's just too messy to keep on the shelf and needs to be in a small container to catch the leaks.
